Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Equipment & Fleet Operations Lead to oversee fleet readiness, utilization, and compliance across a field-based industrial operation. This role is hands-on and operational, with ownership over fleet availability, maintenance coordination, compliance, and cost control.This position works closely with Operations, Safety, Project Teams, and vendors to ensure equipment is safe, reliable, and available when needed. This is an onsite position located in Leduc. What YoullBe Doing:Overseeing day-to-day fleet and equipment readiness across shop, yard, and field locationsAllocating fleet assets based on utilization, operational demand, and business prioritiesCoordinating short-term rental equipment for surge and peak demandMaintaining accurate fleet inventory, maintenance records, and tracking systemsEnsuring inspections, servicing, and documentation are completed on scheduleVerifying insurance, registration, permits, and certifications are currentMonitoring corrective actions from inspections, incidents, and deficienciesTracking fleet operating costs including maintenance, rentals, downtime, and damageSupporting cost optimization decisions related to owned versus rented equipmentWorking with vendors on maintenance services, rentals, and rate reviewsSupporting driver accountability programs related to inspections, incidents, and damageParticipating in driver and technician onboarding and trainingEnsuring compliance with Health & Safety, TDG, and Transport Canada requirementsWhat Were Looking For:510 years of experience in fleet or equipment management in industrial, oilfield, construction, or field-based environmentsExperience making operational decisions related to fleet composition and allocationStrong understanding of fleet maintenance, utilization, and cost controlKnowledge of Health & Safety legislation, TDG, and Transport Canada regulationsComfortable working in a safety-sensitive, fast-paced environmentStrong organization and follow-up skillsProficient with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and fleet or asset tracking systemsValid drivers license and reliable transportationAbility to pass drug and alcohol screeningH2S Alive, CSO, First Aid/CPRExperience supporting multiple sites or business unitsAt Aplin together with our brands CompuStaff and Impact Recruitment we connect great people with great organizations across North America.
