Join us, where there's a place for you here.Position SummaryAs a member of the Anti-Money Laundering / Anti-Terrorist Financing (AML/ATF) department, the Senior Compliance Analyst will report to the Manager, AML Corporate Compliance, to support the delivery of the Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officers (CAMLO) mandate and the ongoing effectiveness of the CTBs AML/ATF and Sanctions Compliance Program in identifying, mitigating, and reporting money laundering, terrorist financing, and sanctions related risks. The primary focus of this role is AML/ATF Governance, Oversight and Advisory compliance function. In this capacity, the Senior Compliance Analyst provides subject matter expertise and guidance applicable to the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA) and associated regulations, and other relevant sanctions laws and requirements to support training, testing, regulatory reporting, issues management, program assessments, and other oversight activities.The Senior Compliance Analyst also collaborates with business teams across the Bank to support cross functional projects and initiatives related to new products, system changes, and enhancements to controls and processes. The role may also support the CAMLO or other managers on additional AML/ATF Program activities, as required. Through ongoing collaboration with AML/ATF teams and stakeholders across the Bank, the Senior Compliance Analyst promotes consistency and reinforces a strong, risk aligned compliance culture.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide subject matter expertise and AML/ATF advisory support across the Bank offering timely guidance on regulatory expectations, process enhancements, remediation efforts, and day to day questions, while applying credible challenge where risks, gaps, or inconsistencies are identified.Participate in cross functional projects and initiatives to assess AML/ATF considerations and risks within new or updated processes, systems, and products (e.g., online application flows, onboarding enhancements, operational updates), recommending appropriate controls where needed.Assist with the development and maintenance of AML/ATF policies, operating directives and standard operating procedures, ensuring they remain aligned with regulatory expectations and internal practices.Build effective working relationships with cross functional teams. including customer acquisitions, product, marketing, fraud, risk management, and internal audit to support a coordinated, risk aligned approach to AML/ATF compliance.Lead the preparation and monitoring of enterprise wide AML/ATF and sanctions evasion training and participate in the development and delivery of training for staff in specialized AML roles.Contribute to second line oversight activities, including targeted reviews, ML/TF control testing (e.g., assessing the suitability of STR filing decisions), and evaluations of key AML/ATF controls such as Know Your Customer (KYC), including ID verification practices.Assist with audit, examination, and oversight review materials, including preparing responses, gathering supporting evidence, and tracking follow up actions.Participate in the review and submission of regulatory reports, including STRs to FINTRAC, sanctions or terrorist property related reports (OSFI 525/590), and other reports to regulatory or law enforcement agencies, as required. Support management reporting, including preparation of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and other program metrics.Contribute to AML/ATF/SE risk assessments, including the Annual Country Risk Assessment and assessments related to new products, services, or technologies.Maintain up to date knowledge of AML/ATF/Sanctions regulatory developments, emerging risks, and industry best practices by participating in internal/external forums, workshops, webinars, and training opportunities.Monitor AML/ATF/Sanctions legislative and regulatory developments applicable to the Banks AML/ATF Program, assess business and control impacts, and communicate required actions to relevant stakeholders.Qualifications / Skills / CompetenciesEducation & CredentialsUniversity degree or equivalent education; a related field (e.g., law, business, compliance) is an asset.AML/Financial Crime certification such as CAMS or CFCS, or enrollment in a recognized program, is preferred.Experience35 years of experience in AML/ATF, compliance, or oversight within a federally regulated financial institution or regulatory body.Experience interacting with regulators, auditors, or supporting responses to legislative or regulatory matters.Familiarity with regulatory reporting processes, including STRs and sanctions related reporting requirements.Technical & Regulatory KnowledgeStrong understanding of the PCMLTFA, associated regulations, sanctions legislation, and ML/TF/SE indicators and typologies.Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and apply them to business processes and control environments.Demonstrated aptitude and comfort working with AML/ATF systems and related tools, with the ability to learn and adapt to new or updated technologies that support compliance activities.Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).Core Skills & CompetenciesStrong analytical and investigative skills with sound judgement and attention to detail.Ability to provide credible challenge while maintaining professionalism and diplomacy.Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex requirements into clear guidance.Highly developed interpersonal skills with experience engaging stakeholders at multiple levels.Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently, and deliver high quality results within established timelines.Our Commitment to Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging We are committed to fostering an environment where belonging thrives, and diversity, inclusion and equity are infused into everything we do.
