Southbridge Health Care LP owns and operates several long-term care and retirement Homes throughout many urban and rural areas of Ontario. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Manager Labour Relations. Reporting to the Senior Director of Human Resources, the HR Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining effective labour relations strategies that support organizational goals while fostering productive relationships with unions, employees, and leadership.This role oversees collective bargaining, contract administration, grievance management, and workplace dispute resolution. The HR Manager ensures compliance with employment legislation and promotes a fair, consistent, and collaborative work environment. They play a critical role in providing strategic HR leadership and guidance to our leaders across our LTC and Retirement homes. This role also partners with organizational leaders to align people strategies with business goals, ensuring high-quality HR service delivery across all areas of talent management, employee relations, and organizational development. By guiding and supporting a team of HR Business Partners, the Human Resources Manager Labour Relations, drives initiatives that foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.This is a full-time position eligible for a hybrid work schedule, with 2-3 day per week remote. Involves occasional travel to the sites across Ontario, a reliable vehicle is necessary. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with some flexibility depending on project requirements and occasional need for overtime. The role involves prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer. The environment is fast-paced and deadline-driven, requiring high attention to detail and strong time management skills. The role includes regular use of computer systems and collaboration with cross-functional teams.Responsibilities:Set the strategic direction for the organizations labour relations framework, ensuring alignment with long term business objectives and proactively mitigating organizational risk.Serve as the senior organizational representative in unionmanagement relations, leveraging influence and diplomacy to strengthen collaborative partnerships and resolve high impact issues.Lead the enterprise-wide strategy for collective bargaining, including developing negotiation mandates, overseeing costing analysis, guiding executive decision making, and ensuring smooth implementation of negotiated agreements.Oversee the full labour dispute resolution strategy, ensuring consistent, legally sound management of grievances, arbitrations, labour board matters, and other high-risk disputes.Ensure enterprise compliance with all labour and employment legislation, setting governance standards and ensuring consistent application across departments and business units.Provide strategic leadership in the development and modernization of HR and labour relations policies, ensuring they enable organizational agility, compliance, and an inclusive culture.Lead and oversee complex workplace investigations, providing executive level recommendations that protect organizational integrity and minimize legal or reputational risk.Act as a senior advisor to executives and people leaders, providing expert guidance on complex HR/Labour issues, workforce strategies, organizational change, and high impact labour relations challenges.Provide strategic oversight and direction to the HR Business Partner team, ensuring capability development, consistent application of HR practices, and alignment with organizational priorities.Champion organizational change and culture initiatives, leading strategies that enhance employee engagement, promote equity, and cultivate a respectful, high performing workplace.Leverage HR analytics and labour relations trend data to inform leadership decision making, identifying systemic risks, emerging issues, and opportunities to enhance HR and LR effectiveness.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge and Skills Required:Bachelors degree in human resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or related field required.Masters degree or specialized training in Labour/Industrial Relations preferred.CHRP/CHRL or equivalent HR designation is an asset.Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a Business Partner or similar role.Proven history of building strong relationships with stakeholders and influencing business outcomes.Solid understanding of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and communicate across all levels of the organization.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.Ability to manage change effectively and drive change initiatives to achieve desired outcomes.What we offer:Be part of a rapidly growing organization where you can make a direct, meaningful impact.Thrive in a dynamic, demanding environment that encourages innovation and growth.Enjoy paid time off designed to support balance and flexibility.Take advantage of fully employer-paid health and dental coverage.Build your future with RRSP matching contributions.Receive an annual wellness credit to support a healthier, happier you.We would like to thank all applicants for your interest in working as part of our team!
