JOB FUNCTIONS Appy Canadian provincial and national Building and Fire Codes, CAN/ULC, NFPA standards, and best practice guidelines related to the design and installation of fire sprinkler systems.Prepare project budgets and proposals. Management of project staffing, profitability, and timelinesUndertake retrofit and design projects including site reviews and assessing the fire sprinkler systems in medium and large complexes including but not limited to interconnected towers, multi-use facilities, warehouses, industrial and commercial facilities.Conduct site visits to gather data on existing conditions and review construction, review shop drawings, attend tests, and commission the systems.Provide hydraulic calculations, pipe sizing, drawings, and specifications.Wok on staged installation of system replacements to ensure the continued operation during the construction phase.Prepare sprinkler specifications and tender documents and oversee installation to ensure compliance by contractors.Attend construction and pre-construction site meetings.Develop Alternative Solutions and prepare written reports with cost estimates.Assess performance of existing sprinkler, standpipe, fire water pumps, and special suppression systems (e.g., low/high expansion foam systems, chemical powder, and clean agent fire suppression systems), selecting proper and cost-effective solutions for replacement using applicable Codes and standardsSupport internal and external clients by advising on application of Codes and standards.Attending meetings with Clients and with Authorities Having Jurisdiction QUALIFICATIONS University Degree preferably in Mechanical Engineering.
