Telecom Expense Management Analyst (Contract)Location: Canada (9am 5pm EST working hours)Type: Contract (REMOTE)Industry: Global Technology / Enterprise ITOverview:A large, multinational technology organization is seeking a Telecom Expense Management (TEM) Analyst to support its global mobility and telecom operations. This role focuses on billing accuracy, inventory management, mobility support, and vendor performance analytics.The ideal candidate understands the telecom ecosystem, works well with stakeholders across IT and Finance, and has hands-on experience supporting mobility users and managing telecom expense lifecycles.Key Responsibilities:Telecom Billing & Cost Management:Review monthly invoices for mobility, voice/data services, circuits, and related assetsIdentify billing discrepancies and initiate/track dispute resolutionsValidate charges against approved rate plans and contracted pricingSupport budgeting, variance analysis, and cost-optimization initiativesMobility Support & User Services:Assist employees with device upgrades, new activations, and account transitionsTroubleshoot mobility-related issues and coordinate escalationsOversee device returns, plan changes, and service cancellationsWork closely with mobility vendors to meet SLAs and resolve issuesInventory & Asset Accuracy:Maintain an accurate inventory of mobile devices, SIMs, circuits, and service plansReconcile inventory records vs. telecom billingIdentify unused assets, misaligned plans, and opportunities for reductionVendor Management & Contract Support:Collaborate with telecom carriers and mobility service providersSupport renewals, pricing reviews, and sourcing eventsTrack contract lifecycles and monitor SLA performanceReporting & Analytics:Build dashboards and metrics using Excel and Power BIReport on monthly spend, trends, forecast variances, and optimization opportunitiesMaintain process documentation and operational proceduresRequired Skills:Experience in TEM, telecom billing, mobility operations, or telecom financial analysisStrong Excel (vlookup/xlookup, pivot tables, formulas)Power BI reportingFamiliarity with TEM platforms (Tangoe, Calero, Sakon, MDSL, etc.)Understanding of telecom vendors, mobility plans, and hardware lifecycleStrong communication and problem-solving abilitiesNice to Have:Experience in enterprise environmentsKnowledge of Oracle or other ERP systems for coding/invoicesExperience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM toolsProcess improvement or automation background
