Type of Positions: 6 Fixed Term Summer Roles - 4 months (May 4 to August 31)Eligibility: Must be returning to a full-time post-secondary degree or diploma program in Fall 2026Why work at Parex Resources Inc.? Desired characteristics of successful candidates include a positive attitude, attention to detail, multi-tasking capabilities with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines, and a willingness to learn and take initiative.Position #1 Exploitation GeoscienceWhat you will do: Liaise with an integrated team of Geoscientists and Engineers.Assist Geophysicists and Geologists with ongoing Development activities that include reservoir characterization, development and data quality control.Work in Petrel and generate geoscience interpretations for input into reservoir model building.Review all well, seismic and production data for actively producing fields to assist with future business decisions:Map well markers and log data;Analyze seismic attributes and cross plotting;Integrate geophysical, geological and engineering data into field models;Collect, analyze, and integrate well log, core, cuttings, petrophysical, and production data to support subsurface interpretation.What you must have:Completed at least three years (preferred) in a Petroleum Geophysics or Geology post-secondary program - graduate students are also encouraged to apply.Understanding of seismic inversion and geostatistical modelling preferred, but not required.Understanding of well log correlation, calculations, facies, and map generation.Position #2 Operations GeoscienceWhat you will do: Liaise with an integrated team of Geoscientists and Engineers.Assist Geophysicists and Geologists with ongoing Exploration and Development activities that include reservoir characterization, development and well operations.Work in Petrel and generate geoscience interpretations for input into reservoir model building.Apply regional seismic and well data interpretation to actively producing fields to assist with future business decisions:Map well markers and log data;Map seismic horizons and faults;Analyze seismic attributes and cross plotting;Integrate geophysical, geological and engineering data into field models;Collect, analyze, and integrate well log, core, cuttings, petrophysical, and production data to support subsurface interpretation.What you must have:Completed at least two years (preferred) in a Petroleum Geophysics or Geology post-secondary program - graduate students are also encouraged to apply.Position #3 Exploration GeophysicsWhat you will do: Liaise in an integrated team of Geoscientists and Engineers.Work with the Geoscience team to integrate data analytics and Machine Learning methods to the Exploration workflow.Create a database of logging, core, seismic and fluid property data to understand regional trends and uncover geologic relationships that drive a successful Exploration program; Map and integrate learnings with existing interpretation to enhance subsurface understanding.Apply regional seismic and well data interpretation to actively producing fields to assist with future business decisions:Map well markers and log data;Map seismic horizons and faults;Analyze seismic attributes and cross plotting;Integrate geophysical, geological and engineering data into field models;Collect, analyze, and integrate well log, core, cuttings, petrophysical, and production data to support subsurface interpretation.What you must have:Completed at least three years (preferred) in a Petroleum Geophysics or Geology post-secondary program - graduate students are also encouraged to apply.Position #4 Exploration Geoscience/EngineeringWhat you will do: Collect, interpret and integrate subsurface datasets into formation centric Play-Fairway-Analysis.Conduct field and well failure analyses to guide common-risk-segment mapping.Work across organizational boundaries to strengthen interpretations.Communicate results to the organization.What you must have:Completed at least three years (preferred) in a Petroleum Geoscience or Engineering post-secondary program - graduate students are also encouraged to apply.Familiarity with geographic information systems (GIS) applications, statistics and analytics considered an asset.Understanding of fundamental geoscientific concepts of stratigraphy, sedimentology, structural geology/tectonics.Basic understanding of petroleum systems components (source rock, migration, reservoir, seal, trap) and parameters affecting fluid storage and flow (porosity, permeability, pressure, viscosity).Position #5 Exploitation EngineeringWhat you will do: Perform decline analysis on maturing assets, and liaise with Reservoir Advisor on methodology.Work with Area Engineers to analyze analogue fields for purposes of reservoir understanding and field development planning.Review previous budget results to better assess future predictions.What you must have:Completed one to two years (preferred) in a Petroleum Engineering post-secondary program.Basic understanding of petroleum systems is preferred.Strong analytical skills.Position #6 Operations EngineeringWhat you will do: Use tools like Power BI or Spotfire to visualize trends through time, create reports and share analysis.Integrate reservoir engineering concepts with historical field and analogue production datasets to build datasets, and/or processes to improve operated fields reservoir characterization efficiency and quality.Communicate with Team Leads/Managers to understand historical results, failure or success, and accurately document and update parameters in post-well analysis.Provide data analysis, compilation, and quality control for Senior Engineers as required.What you must have:Completed at least two years (preferred) in a Petroleum Engineering post-secondary program - graduate students are also encouraged to apply.Additional skills/attributes required for all candidates:Good working skill level with Excel, Word, Outlook, MSTeams.Results Oriented demonstrates a sense of urgency and strong commitment to achieving goals;
