We are seeking a candidate to fill a renewable energy Project Manager role as part of the Canadian Development Team. This is a full-time position based at our head off ice downtown Halifax that will require travel during the work week. The primary responsibilities of the role will be: Managing development activities for new and existing utility-scale renewable energy projects across Canada Ensuring project success from inception to start of construction Managing project schedules and budgets for variety of projects Liaising with several team leaders to coordinate project works Managing third-party consultant and contractor contracts Fostering and maintaining relationships with diverse set of regulators, stakeholders, rightsholders, etc. Key Tasks and Duties Leading projects through development to ensure the projects are being developed in consideration of all requirements to meet expected targets Creating and managing project budgets and scheduling of works from project inception to construction to minimize risk and impacts Conducting risk management planning Developing strategies with internal resources to complete works required to advance projects Leading, fostering and maintaining relationships with rightsholders, community members, stakeholders, utilities, regulators, consultants, and contractors involved with the projects Writing technical plans, memos, reports, and presentations relating to the projects and their progress Assess and advise on the identification and feasibility of new renewable energy projects Negotiate, revise, and prepare real property contracts with both individual and corporate landowners Manage the completion of wind resource assessments for projects by third-party engineering firms Manage public, stakeholder, and rightsholder engagement and consultation Complete and manage interconnection applications with utility companies Support team members in strategizing and applying for various municipal, provincial, and federal permits and funding sources Lead and write grant applications, funding applications, and requests for proposals for renewable energy projects Qualifications 3-5 years of project management experience, preferably related to energy projects Post-secondary degree with background in engineering, planning, environmental sciences, or a related discipline Broad understanding of the technical aspects of renewable energy projects, environmental permitting, and interconnection procedures Strong interest in renewable energy projects, project development, and relationship building Excellent communicator Experience working on energy projects Action-driven personality that can deliver results Self-motivator who is resourceful Team player who can work with a group of various backgrounds to find best approaches or solutions Professional in the work setting must be willing to work in office Must be willing to travel during the work week Application Requirements Applications must include a cover letter and resume Other Information Diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our clean energy mission.
