As our Canadian operations continue to expand, we are seeking a Senior Business Immigration Lawyer with 10+ years of experience in Canadian business immigration to play a leadership role within our Canadian practice. This position is designed for a seasoned practitioner who brings deep subject-matter expertise, strong client advisory skills, and the ability to guide complex matters while mentoring colleagues and shaping best practices. How You Will Be Contributing Serve as a senior legal advisor to corporate clients, entrepreneurs, and investors on complex Canadian business immigration matters. Lead the development of strategic, end-to-end immigration solutions aligned with clients workforce, mobility, and compliance objectives. Oversee and manage high-risk and high-complexity filings, including: Work permits (LMIA-based and LMIA-exempt) Permanent residence pathways LMIAs and compliance-related submissions Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) matters Provide senior-level guidance on compliance, audits, employer obligations, and risk mitigation. Monitor regulatory, policy, and program changes across IRCC, ESDC, and provincial authorities and translate updates into practical client guidance. Act as a key point of escalation for complex legal, procedural, or adjudication issues. Conduct final legal review and quality control of filings prepared by junior and mid-level team members. Mentor and support the development of associates and other team members through training, feedback, and knowledge sharing. Lead or participate in client-facing presentations, webinars, and training sessions on Canadian immigration strategy and compliance. Collaborate closely with cross-border and global FGI teams to support multinational client needs. Utilize FGIs case management systems to oversee workflows, track case progress, and ensure adherence to service-level standards. Contribute to the continued refinement of FGIs processes, templates, and technology-driven solutions. Participate in leadership discussions related to practice growth, efficiency, and client service delivery. Perform other related duties as needed in support of the Canadian practice. Necessary Skills to Make an Impact Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex immigration concepts clearly to senior stakeholders. Proven ability to manage and grow long-term corporate client relationships. Extensive experience handling complex, high-volume Canadian business immigration caseloads. Strong judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to assess nuanced immigration scenarios. Demonstrated leadership and mentoring capabilities. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and comfort with immigration case management platforms. Collaborative, solution-oriented mindset with a commitment to excellence in client service. Qualifications Licensed to practice law in a Canadian province or territory and in good standing with a Canadian law society. 10+ years of experience practicing Canadian immigration law, with a strong emphasis on business immigration. Significant experience advising corporate employers and managing complex immigration strategies. Proven leadership experience managing teams, workflows, and client relationships. Important Note: Candidates fluent in French and/or with substantial experience handling Qubec immigration matters will be given priority.
