Job Description

SMS Equipment is seeking a knowledgeable and customerfocused Mining Dozer Technical Specialist (internally titledTechnical Support Specialist) to support mining operations through expert troubleshooting, equipment performance analysis, and handson technical guidance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring safe, reliable, and highperforming operation of Komatsu mining dozers, including D375 and D475 models. Work Location:Elkford, BC Salary:$115,000 to $122,000 annually. Work arrangement:Hybrid providing the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week. Travel: This position will be required to occasionally travel to Timmins, ON and Wabush, NL. Schedule:Monday to Friday. What You''ll Do Serve customersby providing information and resolving technical problems. Acts as the liaison between SMS Equipment, Komatsu and the customer. Resolves problems by asking questions and clarifying customer''s concerns. Documents and communicates observations of customer equipment Assist in developing project plans, priorities, budgets and schedules ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations, guidelines and procedures. Attend monthly JoiFUL meetings, daily mine meetings as required, quarterly meeting support. Provide technical support and trainingto ensure the success of both the preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Leads task force committees on product issues. Facility and equipment maintenance, repairs and improvement modifications. What You Bring The ideal candidate will either be acertified Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic (or similar trade) or will possess a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 3 years'' experience in the heavy equipment industry. Additional qualifications include: Technical knowledge of maintenance, repair, and fabrication of heavy equipment Mechanical experience and/or reliability in the heavy equipment industry is preferred Komatsu dozer experience is required. Knowledge of OH&S regulations and equipment inspection Excellent communication and organizational skills Strong computer skills are required. Exemplary interpersonal skills including the abilities to influence others and engage other resources Valid Class 5 driver''s license and reliable transportation are required This position is classified as anIndividual Contributorrolein SMS Equipment''s competency framework, requiring demonstration ofcore competencies (customer focus, collaboration, and technical/functional expertise).
