If so, Science North, Northern Ontario''s most popular tourist attraction, is looking for you to join its sciencecentreteam In this position, you will participate in the daily care of Science North''s insects, arachnids, reptiles, amphibians, fish, and mammals. You will work directly with members of the Living Exhibits team in the Nature Exchange (tropical butterflies and exotic invertebrates) and Northern Ecosystems floors (animals of Northern Ontario). Key Responsibilities: Prepare food for daily animal feedings Clean, maintain, and monitor habitats and enclosures including verification of water quality Accurately document and maintain feeding schedules, cleaning, medications, handling, and biometric measures Research information on our vertebrates and invertebrates for enrichment and education purposes Assist with animal demonstrations and answer visitor questions related to animal care while working in public-facing areas What You Bring: A strong passion for learning and animal care Comfort working with all insects, arachnids (spiders), reptiles, amphibians and mammals Excellent fine motor skills and meticulous attention to detail Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time Capability and willingness to safely lift heavier objects up to 50 pounds using proper techniques and perform repetitive tasks on a daily or weekly basis Given the nature of this role, we are not able to consider applicants who have allergies to any of the following: fruit, nuts, fish and/or shellfish, or severe allergies to animals, animal dander, plants or pollen.This part-time position offers/requires flexible scheduling, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays, some weekend availability is an absolute necessity. Science North provides services in both official languages. Fluency in English is required (non-negotiable) and fluency in spoken French is an asset but not a requirement for this position.
