Job Title

This role is responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining a CNC Lathe to machine precision parts according to drawings and specifications. As the successful candidate, you will be responsible for programming, measuring, inspecting and ensuring high-quality production within specified tolerances while maintaining a safe and organized work environment. Duties may also include occasional operation of a variety of machines that cut, bend, roll or otherwise shape metal as well as the operation of forklifts or other power mobile equipment. Responsibilities: Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, charts and tables Use G-code to assist in troubleshooting, optimizing, or running manual data input commands. Compute dimensions, tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces Set-up, operate and maintain a variety of machine tools including CNC tools to perform precision machining operations Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments Ensure the cleanliness and deburring on parts as required Use a variety of manufacturing equipment to fabricate steel (industrial bends, plasma cutters, cut to length machines, etc.) as needed Set up and operate other key equipment in the fabrication department (Plasma table, Laser, Presses, brakes, rollers) as needed Arrange parts and staging of materials Propose potential quality or productivity enhancements Review of finished parts to ensure accuracy against drawings Report fabrication issues and assist in resolutions as required. Qualifications: High school diploma or GED is preferred Moderate G-code competency required Apprentice / Journeyperson Millwright would be considered an asset 2-5 years of CNC Machining experience is preferred Certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
