The Opportunity The Medical Assistant role is ideal for recent post-secondary graduates, students in their final year who can commit to 35 full-day shifts per week, or individuals taking a gap year to gain meaningful, hands-on work experience. No prior medical experience is required. We are seeking candidates with a strong customer service backgroundsuch as experience in retail, fast food, or other fast-paced environmentswho are enthusiastic about pursuing a career in healthcare. Compensation: Base rate of $17.60 per hour, with opportunities for additional earnings and career advancement. Benefits: Comprehensive coverage including vision, dental, medical, and paramedical services, with eligibility beginning after 6 months of continuous full-time employment. What You''ll Do Medical Assistants receive comprehensive training and are responsible for the following duties: Accurately register patients and manage administrative tasks, including reception, appointment scheduling, and payment collection. Prepare patients for clinical appointments by welcoming them into exam rooms and performing triage. Apply approved scripts, scenarios, and clinical protocols appropriately and consistently. Utilize the Electronic Medical Record system (EMR Advantage) accurately and efficiently. Maintain appropriate inventory levels by daily stocking of exam rooms and clinic areas. Ensure a clean, safe, and welcoming environment by regularly cleaning and sanitizing exam rooms, foyers, and washrooms. Complete clinic opening and closing procedures as required. Manage records and documentation, along with other administrative duties as assigned. Participate in training for one or more specialty programs (e.g., Travel Medicine, Allergy Testing, Foot Care, and Well-Baby Care) following successful completion of a 3-month probationary review. Perform additional duties as required to support clinic operations. What We''re Looking For Must reside in Ontario. This is an onsite role and not remote. Must be legally authorized to work in Canada (Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident), or hold a valid work permit for at least 12 months from the start date. Sponsorship is not available. Able to perform an active, physically demanding role, spending most of the day on your feet and moving throughout the clinic; agility and stamina are essential. Completion of 12 years of post-secondary education in a related field, or equivalent relevant work experience. An undergraduate or bachelor''s degree in Health Sciences, Kinesiology, General Science, or Arts is considered an asset. 6 months to 1 year of customer service experience in a fast-paced environment (e.g., retail or hospitality). Excellent English communication skills (verbal, written, reading, and comprehension). Additional language proficiency is an asset. Demonstrated reliability, commitment, and flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends. Willingness to work across multiple clinic or office locations within the region. Strong interest in continuous learning, training, and professional development.
