Starting wage for this position with a Millwright Red Seal Certification is $50.117 per hour. What You''ll Do Observe planer machine operation and adjust controls to ensure highest quality and production standards. Perform routine/preventative maintenance on all planer machine equipment. Maintain planer cutter heads and knives. Operate in a safe and productive manner to prevent injuries. Maintain housekeeping standards in and around the work area. Perform machine setup, troubleshooting, repairs and preventative maintenance of Planermill and Kilns equipment. Install machinery and equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, and other drawings, using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools, and power tools. Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance. required. Work in conjunction with maintenance and operations personnel to maximize machine center performance and improvements. What You Offer The ideal candidate will have several years experience in an automated lumber manufacturing environment working as a Planer Technician with strong mechanical experience, preferably Gilbert planers. Minimum of 3 years as a Journeyman millwright is an asset. Comprehensive understanding and ability to troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Commitment to safe work performance and work environment, without compromise. Recognize problems problems and have them corrected immediately. Open-minded and positive in dealing with change and new ways of doing things. Able to communicate effectively with your team and other departments. Take personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work.
