Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Carpenter to join our dynamic construction team. This is a project based hired for Drayton Valley, AB. In this role, you will be responsible for executing high-quality carpentry work across a variety of projects, ensuring safety, precision, and efficiency. As a key member of our crew, you will bring craftsmanship and expertise to commercial, and restoration sites, helping us deliver exceptional results that meet client specifications and industry standards. Duties Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately execute carpentry tasks. Construct, install, repair, and maintain structures such as wood and steel stud framing, cladding, siding, roofing, drywall, and flooring using hand tools and power tools. Perform trim carpentry including door hanging, fixture installation, cabinetry, and molding with precision. Assist with concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, and plastering to support various construction phases. Conduct restoration work including water damage remediation, mold remediation, and general renovation projects. Measure materials accurately for fabrication and assembly; utilize CNC machinery when applicable. Handle heavy lifting safely while maintaining adherence to safety protocols on construction sites. Install siding, stucco, metal studs, drywall, and other exterior/interior finishes to meet project specifications. Support plumbing, electrical experience, and HVAC tasks as needed during remodeling or renovation projects. Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and materials; ensure compliance with safety standards at all times. Skills Proficiency in various carpentry techniques including frame carpentry, trim carpentry, roofing, siding installation, and metal stud framing. Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, saws, chisels) and power tools (drills, saws) for precise craftsmanship. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading and schematics to interpret project plans accurately. Ability to perform concrete forming, rebar installation, masonry work, tile laying, flooring installation, and plastering. Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks while maintaining safety standards. Basic electrical experience for fixture installation or troubleshooting; plumbing knowledge is also advantageous. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members; ability to follow detailed instructions precisely.
