Job Description

Role Overview We are looking for a Technical Designer to help prototype, build, and iterate on core gameplay systems, with a particular focus on combat and traversal . This role sits at the intersection of design and engineering and is ideal for someone who enjoys turning ideas into playable experiences quickly, while maintaining technical quality and scalability. This studio is looking for someone who can turn around a prototype in a matter of 1-2 weeks and you will work closely with other designers and animators to develop gameplay that feels responsive and fun. Key Responsibilities Gameplay Prototyping Rapidly prototype gameplay mechanics using Blueprints and UE5 tools. Translate high-level design ideas into playable combat and traversal systems. Iterate quickly based on playtesting, feedback, and performance considerations. Combat Systems Design, prototype, and refine player and enemy combat mechanics. Implement abilities, attacks, hit reactions, targeting, and timing systems. Work closely with animation and VFX teams to ensure combat feels responsive and impactful. Balance readability, player agency, and technical constraints. Traversal & Movement Prototype and develop traversal mechanics (e.g. climbing, vaulting, dashing, wall-running, grappling). Tune movement parameters to achieve satisfying game feel. Ensure traversal systems integrate smoothly with level design and combat scenarios. This role offers completely remote work and no relocation is required.
