Position OverviewPOWERGROUP Resources, on behalf of our client AVERTEX Utility Solutions Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Orangeville operations team. This role is geared toward the project management and administrative side of construction, while maintaining a consistent field presence to support supervisors and foremen.The Project Manager is responsible for the overall success, safety, financial performance, and delivery of assigned projects and serves as the primary point of contact between the company, clients, and stakeholders.Applicants are expected to work in and out of the Orangeville office. We value honesty, accountability, and doing the job right.What we offer:Salary: $120,000 $135,000 annually based on skills and experience.Bonuses in addition to base salaryCompany vehicle Comprehensive health & dental benefitsEmployer pension contribution3 weeks vacation plus an additional time off around ChristmasAnnual clothing allowanceWhat we need from you:5+ years of project management or supervisory experience in underground utilities, civil construction, excavating, or related industriesStrong administrative, organizational, and project management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel & Word)Solid construction background with the ability to manage schedules and budgetsStrong communication and problem-solving skillsValid Canadian drivers licenseCET certification is an assetRole Breakdown~25% meetings and client coordination~25% field presence (jobsite readiness, troubleshooting, previews)~50% project administration, planning, financial control, and coordinationWhat you will do:Ensure all work is completed in accordance with AVERTEXs Health & Safety Program and applicable regulationsManage project safety, quality, schedule, scope, and costPlan, coordinate, and communicate all aspects of construction activitiesManage change orders and scope changes as they ariseOversee monthly invoicing and approve job costing for assigned projectsCoordinate manpower and equipment requirements with the Operations ManagerResolve project challenges including weather delays, emergencies, and site constraintsSecure subcontractors and manage major material procurementAssist with subcontractor contract negotiationsWork closely with supervisors and foremen to troubleshoot issues and develop effective solutionsConduct site visits to ensure projects are ready for crews prior to mobilizationBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, and suppliersAssist with coaching and mentoring foremen and project coordinatorsThis job posting is for a current vacancy with our client.We use AI-assisted tools to help identify and match applicants to our open roles.
