HR Manager Toronto Base Salary: $80,000-95,000 (Full-time Permanent) Trooh is a leading American media company, reaching millions of gen z consumers on their daily journey throughout their college years. We are seeking an experienced and proactive HR Manager to join our team and support the continued growth of our organization. Reporting to the Chief HR & Operations Officer, this role is both hands-on and strategic, with responsibility for strengthening our people practices while supporting day-to-day HR operations. The HR Manager will partner closely with leadership, lead a small HR team, and help shape a positive, engaging, and future-focused employee experience in a digital-first environment. Accountabilities and Responsibilities: Partner with the Chief HR & Operations Officer and business leaders to support people strategies that enhance engagement, performance, and employee experience. Lead and optimize full-cycle recruitment strategies, continuously improving hiring practices, candidate experience, and onboarding processes. Champion a positive, high-performance culture by providing support and guidance on employee relations matters, including performance conversations, coaching, conflict resolution, and progressive discipline. Ensure compliance with HR policies, procedures, and employment legislation across Canada and the United States, maintaining up-to-date practices as regulations evolve. Oversee payroll and benefits administration, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance, while regularly reviewing offerings and enhancing employee understanding and experience. Proactively assess emerging skill needs, particularly in digital and technology-enabled roles, and translate insights into recruiting, development, and succession strategies. Own performance management and growth practices, ensuring scalable processes that support meaningful feedback, goal setting, and development planning. Design and facilitate learning and development initiatives that build organizational capability, leadership effectiveness, and future-ready skills. Oversee people systems, data, and insights to ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance, while leveraging technology, automation, and analytics to improve efficiency and decision-making. What you offer: Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field required. CHRP or CHRL designation preferred 3+ years of well-rounded HR management experience, preferably within a sales or digital media organization. Strong working knowledge of Canada and U.S federal and state employment and anti-discrimination laws and human rights legislation required; Hands-on experience managing payroll, benefits, and HR operations. Strong digital fluency, including experience with HR technology, AI, automation, and HRIS platforms (ADP Workforce Now an asset). High integrity, exceptional organization, and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities and sensitive information. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive, relationship-oriented approach across all levels of the organization. What can a career at Trooh offer you?
