Daley Elementary School - Nanton, AlbertaFull-Time Mental Health ProfessionalLivingstone Range School Division is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join the team at A.B. Daley Elementary School in Nanton, Alberta. This full-time position is part of the Integrated School Support Program (ISSP), funded in partnership with the Calgary Police Youth Foundation (CPYF). The ISSP model provides layered, holistic supports aimed at strengthening resilience, improving academic outcomes, and enhancing pro-social behaviours in children and youth.This role is a one-year term position, renewable annually for up to three years, subject to funding and program needs.About the RoleReporting to the Clinical Team Lead, the Mental Health Professional will bring a psychosocial and therapeutic lens to school-based mental health supports. Working collaboratively within the school and division teams, the successful candidate will assess mental health needs, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide culturally responsive counselling and therapeutic interventions to elementary-aged students.Required QualificationsApplicants must hold one of the following:Registered PsychologistRegistered Clinical Social WorkerOr an equivalent graduate-level credentialAdditional requirements:Active registration and good standing with the relevant regulatory college under the Health Professions ActDemonstrated knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., TF-CBT, DBT, ACT, etc.)Training and experience in crisis intervention, assessment, and case managementExcellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teamKey ResponsibilitiesThe Mental Health Professional will:Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments to identify student needsDevelop, implement, and revise individualized treatment plansProvide individual and group counselling using evidence-based therapeutic approachesMonitor progress, document interventions, and prepare clinical reports as requiredSupport school staff with strategies for learning, behavioural, emotional, and social challenges - including in-class support for dysregulated studentsCollaborate with families, community agencies, and external professionals to coordinate careFacilitate psychoeducational and therapeutic groups for students and familiesAdvocate for student well-being within school and community contextsOffer professional development opportunities for school staffParticipate in ISSP program evaluation and reporting requirements for CPYFApplication DetailsThe successful candidate must provide a current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search prior to the start of employment.For further information, please contact Holly Stewart, Clinical Team Lead at 403-625-3356.We thank all candidates for their interest; however, only those who will be interviewed will be contacted.
