Position Summary We are seeking a professional, organized, and team-oriented Ophthalmic Receptionist to join our busy ophthalmology clinic. The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for our patients and play a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day clinic operations. This position requires excellent communicaton skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to perform eficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining a supportive atmosphere for patients and staff. Roles and Responsibilities: Checking in and checking out patients. Answering phones and taking messages. Scheduling appointments according to guidelines. Able to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality. Obtaining and confirming patient information for healthcare billing. Operating common business equipment including but not limited to copiers, computers, and fax machines. Maintaining an organization in a fast-paced environment. Communicating with patients and document patients eye problems and symptoms. Efficiently and accurately documenting all pertinent information in patient records (EMR) Returning phone calls to patients and other healthcare professionals in a timely manner. Handle scheduling conflicts and high patient volumes with professionalism and composure. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent 2+ years of previous experience as an ophthalmic receptionist Experience with Accuro EMR is considered an asset Skills: Excellent patient service skills with an aptitude to understand the patients'' conditions. Strong computer skills, with previous EMR experience. Typing speed of 40wpm or better. Ability to quickly grasp and adapt to new programs and equipment. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Self-motivation to deliver high quality results. Present a cheerful, friendly and professional image to patients and fellow employees. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to demonstrate consistent initiative and a team attitude. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work unsupervised or with minimal supervision. Wage is commensurate with experience, and designation, with a standard company benefits package. Applicant may be eligible for an annual salary increase and/or annual bonus, based on performance.
