Video - Loewen Windows - More than a Window In the Grinding Room, we provide services for tooling set up and sharpening blades and cutters needed throughout the plant. In Millshop, we set up moulders to run raw lumber into profiled wood parts for use throughout assembly. In both areas we focus on safety, quality, and on-time production. We partner with assembly to ensure our work meets the standards needed to produce high quality windows and doors. In this role, you will split your time between the Grinding Room and as a Moulder Operator in Millshop. You will use your ability to interpret drawings, to organize your time efficiently, and your mechanical inclination to be successful in the role. Shift: Monday Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm In the Grinding Room, you will be responsible to: Provide tooling service including: Sharpening profile heads, and straight heads Sharpening circular cutter heads Tooling set-up and maintain tooling Template and knife preparation Sharpening and re-tipping saw blades In Millshop, you will be responsible to: Set up and operate the moulder, ensuring all measurements are within tolerances Ensure all parts meet quality standards Keep work area clean and free from safety hazards Identify and address problems as they arise Flex and cross train as required You will bring: Able to communicate effectively in English (oral, and written) Demonstrated focus on quality and precision accuracy Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, AutoCAD, and Moulder drawings Detailed oriented; have the ability to accurately use a tape measure and caliper Demonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervision Effective organizational skills, workload management Basic math and computer skills Ability to lift up to 50lbs+ with assistance The following will be considered assets: Previous experience operating similar equipment Why work at Loewen?
