Position Summary Reporting to the Senior Assistant Superintendent and Equipment Manager, the Facility Attendant is responsible for maintaining all areas of the maintenance facility in a clean and orderly fashion as well as ensuring all equipment/tools are properly cleaned and stored daily. Key Responsibilities Act as a representative of the Course and Grounds Department at all times Using the washpad, clean all equipment after each use and store in their proper location this includes all small and heavy equipment used on site Have all small equipment (string trimmers, rotary mowers, backpack blowers, etc.) fueled and ready for next use. Maintain and organize the maintenance facility, kitchen/lunchroom, locker room, and washrooms to department standards daily Report issues / failures to the Equipment Manager and/or Supervisor immediately Ensure the washpad is cleaned and organized at the end of each day Maintain full jerry cans of gas, mixed gas, and diesel, as well as fuel records Assist with the setup and staging of equipment when necessary Ensure the proper lockdown and closing of the maintenance facility at the end of each shift Perform skilled and semi-skilled golf course maintenance practices periodically Performs other duties as directed by the Assistant Superintendents or Equipment Manager Follow all Health and Safety policies and procedures Skills & Requirements Experience in golf course maintenance / landscaping is an asset, but not required Comfortable working under extremely warm conditions during the summer months (consecutive days of 30 or above) and extremely cold conditions during the fall/winter months (consecutive days of below 0 and below) Strong work ethic hard working, flexible availability, good attitude, teamwork and cooperation skills Effective communication skills listening, understanding, and responding Commitment to working in a safe manner Must have sufficient physical strength and ability to independently and repeatedly lift and carry up to 50lbs, move and push objects weighing up to 75 pounds and to lift, and move and carry objects weighing more than 75 pounds with assistance Work Hours 40+ hours/week as well as every second weekend (mornings only as defined by Senior Assistant Superintendent) Overtime and flexible hours may be required during peak times or as directed by the Senior Assistant Superintendent Weekdays 6:00a.m. to 2:30p.m. (Flexible during summer months) Weekends 5:30a.m. to 10:30a.m. or later.
