MCAP Summer Student 2026 Are you currently enrolled in a post-secondary program? Are you flexible to work from home or in the office up to 40 hours a week (Monday-Friday)? We''d love to hear from you MCAP is looking to hire summer students to support various departments such as: Central Processing Unit (CPU) Discharge Team (Location: Waterloo or Toronto In office) Faxing documents. Managing volumes. Repetitive tasks that can be done remotely. Handling in-person documents. Statements Team (Location: Waterloo - In office) Queue based interaction environment. Creating statements relating to mortgage information. Administrative Team (Location: Waterloo - In office) Administrative support for the Central Processing Unit (CPU). Fire insurance functions including processing fire insurance cancellations, new policies and reinstatement notices. Receiving incoming/outgoing mail while ensuring other teams within CPU have their daily and weekly mail printed. Printing, mailing, and scanning documents. Midterm Team (Location: Waterloo - In office) Daily in queue and out of queue functions including monitoring, reporting, and email interactions. Majority of tasks involve ingesting information into company systems. Cash Team (Location: Waterloo or Toronto In office) Process incoming funds: payout, arrear collection, fee collection, insurance proceeds and legal deposits. Funds are received via cheque, wire, e-transfer / online bill payment. Process outgoing funds: Refunds, Invoice Payment, Condo Arrears, and Cashback Refunds. Taxes Team (Location: Waterloo In office) Incoming/outgoing interactions with our homeowners and municipalities with regards to property taxes. Data entry and review. Administrative duties. Other Projects (Location: Toronto or Waterloo) Scanning documents. Data entry. Ancillary Products (Location: Toronto Hybrid) This position is a full-time temporary position intended for post-secondary students who are enrolled in school and returning to school in September. Currently enrolled in a Finance role with an interest in data analytics is preferred. Key responsibilities are as follows: Research, compile, tabulate and analyze data for a variety of administrative and departmental matters. Support and provide suggestions or recommendations with regard to department projects. Assist with the preparation of reports. Maintain and update databases (where required). May assist in preparing information and research materials. Communicate to manager any knowledge or suggestion to aid in the continuous improvement of the business. Underwriting Alt. Lending - NPX and Eclipse (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Supporting underwriting through employment and document verification. Completing outbound calls to confirm applicant employment information. Partnering closely with Underwriters and BRMs throughout the verification process. Ad hoc administrative tasks. Underwriting (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Processing and attaching documents both Closing Coordinator and Document Specialist. Support the Underwriter support manager with solicitor registrations/calls to the solicitor. On a side note be available for possible shift work. Commercial Mortgage Group Funding (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Set up new files in PLM upon receipt of the New Loan Under Contract email. Request, order, and process credit reports as instructed via email. Prepare welcome letters and amortization schedules for newly funded loans, to be issued to Borrowers within five (5) business days following the funding date. Support Funding Officers with post-funding activities in PLM (including notes, events, and action items), as well as file clean-up and adherence to established naming conventions. Assist Funding Officers with the preparation of instruction letters for lawyers, insurance consultants, and cost consultants. Perform other duties as assigned. Investment Management (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Create files and set up initial EDM and save information in accordance with CMG''s naming convention. Prepare Loan Summary for the Underwriter by entering basic loan details. Develop underwriting skills by working in partnership with the Underwriters to conduct the property, market, and borrower financial analysis. Assist in preparing/submitting applications to CMHC for mortgage insurance. Track and follow for any outstanding loan documentation for pipeline loans and forward to Investors. Servicing (Location: Toronto In Office) Assisting with Iron mountain- File Destruction- could be Physical Lifting of files/boxes. Mortgage Administration: Review of Insurances, Statements. Processing of payments. Perform Tax Escrow Analysis: Prepare Discharge Statements, Information Statements and Amortization Schedules. Legal: Review of Final Report, Compile Legal Documents. Information Technology IT Program Delivery (Location: Waterloo - Hybrid) Assist in educating and coaching story writers on proper content and format. Obtain stakeholder feedback for evaluation of projects in progress, aligned to Business Unit objectives. Track progress and forecast budget expenditures. Support regular status reporting to Stakeholders. Participate in the facilitation of Stand-ups where team members briefly state commitments and coordinate efforts. Learn, identify, and use agile best practices such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban. Educate / inspire team members on agile practices. Security Engineering (Location: Waterloo - Hybrid) MCAP is looking for an individual who will be in part responsible for a wide range of activities related to the stable and efficient operation of the security controls/mechanism and threat/risk assessment techniques. Provide support for Managed Detection and Response security event follow up and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) system analysis and reporting to confirm activities/remediations. Work closely with other IT teams to help assess and remediate vulnerabilities through the Threat Vulnerability Management (TVM) process Prepare and facilitate monthly social engineering (phishing) campaigns, with the aim of increasing end-user awareness of information security Perform security audit activities to confirm security standards compliance and to support internal audit activities Support BCP and DR processes Default Management Team (Location: Toronto and Waterloo - Hybrid) Reporting functions. Repetitive tasks that can be done remotely. Handling in person documents. Administrative support for Leaders. Data entry and review. Finance Finance - Middle Office (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Assist with the enhancement and completion of all conduit and warehouse settlement reports. Prepare weekly reports for senior management about the Canadian bond yields and the change in value of the company''s hedges. Assist with the tracking and settlement of new interest rate swaps. Finance (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Assist with completion of internal certification reports and regulatory compliance checks. Helping with month-end or quarter-end reporting processes. Assist with the tracking of various securitization products. Finance Accounts Payable (Location: Toronto Hybrid) Organizing vendor invoices by different categories. Assisting with reconciliations and resolving discrepancies. Assist in testing of processes and procedures. Sales Support (Location: Hybrid Waterloo or Toronto) Responsible for the following Administration and Reporting functions for SupportBIE and Ops BIE: Broker portal (Professor/Gateway/Explore) admin & password resets. Co-Agent registration / deactivations / maintenance. Solicitor validations. Liberty wire notifications. RMG Appraisal Rebate processing. Learning and Development/ Single Family Operations Support (Location: Waterloo - Hybrid) Support training and course administration by scheduling and setting up sessions, sending calendar invites and reminders, and managing the training inbox. Support administrative tasks as needed. Plan and coordinate events across our offices. Organize catering and lunch arrangements for teams and events. Renewals (Location: Toronto or Waterloo Hybrid) Learn about the fast-paced world of Renewals. Assist in processing Renewal Documentation that is returned to MCAP. Support Renewals Projects and Initiatives. Contact Centre (Location: Toronto or Waterloo Hybrid) First point of contact for our customers. Handle client inquiries about their mortgage as well as our products and services. Focus on customer satisfaction with curiosity, empathy and tact to create meaningful experiences through education, empowerment and trust. Shared Services (Location: Toronto - Hybrid) Documenting existing SQL reporting including; Stored Procedures (SSIS), SSRS, and dataflow and relational diagrams. Assist in creating SSIS packages for existing SQL reporting. Support additional teams with project work, including updating documentation and processes. Enterprise Risk Management Data Governance (Location: Waterloo or Toronto Hybrid) Data-driven with good analytical skills. Previous data mapping experience and querying skills are a plus. Detail-oriented with ability to pay close attention to the finer details and seek opportunities for improvement. Ability to adapt quickly, willingness to learn, and communicate thoroughly, especially with other stakeholders Financial Intelligence Unit (Location: Toronto or Calgary - Hybrid) This project-based summer student role offers a unique opportunity to support the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) by combining business process documentation with creative reporting and visual design. The successful candidate will work closely with both the FIU Operations Leader and the Chief Anti-Money Laundering Officer (CAMLO) to help modernize how the FIU documents its work, reports on performance, and shares information internally. Partner with the FIU Operations Leader to identify operational processes that require formal documentation. Observe, research, and document FIU operational workflows, producing clear, professional, and easy-to-follow business process documents. Collaborate with the FIU management team to design and build a ''Coaching Dashboard'' template that managers can use to report individual productivity and provide feedback to staff. Work with the CAMLO to redesign and enhance the FIU''s quarterly AML report for senior and executive management. Develop a standardized monthly ''Manager Report to CAMLO'' template to support consistent reporting on team performance, project progress, objectives, and emerging issues. Review, organize, and visually enhance the FIU''s existing SharePoint site to improve usability, consistency, and overall presentation. Code of Business Conduct & Risk Initiatives Support (Location: Toronto - Hybrid) This role will report to the Associate Director, Risk & Compliance For the first part of the summer term: Responsible for tracking and maintaining documentation of disclosed activities submitted through MCAP''s Annual Awareness Training (using SharePoint) Provide support for daily training completion and compliance reporting Support the monitoring and management of the Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) inbox to ensure timely response and escalation Coordinate scheduling and prepare calendar invitations for Line of Business (LOB) review meetings Prepare and compile materials for Line of Business Leader review meetings Assist with the preparation of Q2 quarter-end reporting deliverables Support the drafting and distribution of follow-up communications to staff Ensure strict confidentiality in all of these duties For the latter part of the summer term: Support the population and management of MCAP''s Vendor Repository (MVR) by working with stakeholders across MCAP Provide support to Vendor Relationship Owners on their use of the MVR and the completion of the vendor Criticality and Inherent Risk Assessment (CIRA). Monitor and maintain the quality of the entries in the MVR, including user access. Validate the information provided by Vendor Relationship Owners for new vendor onboarding Risk Initiatives Support (Location: Toronto - Hybrid) This role will report to the Associate Director, Enterprise Risk Management Support the population and management of MCAP''s Vendor Repository (MVR) by working with stakeholders across MCAP Provide support to Vendor Relationship Owners on their use of the MVR and the completion of the vendor Criticality and Inherent Risk Assessment (CIRA).
