Our team Community Nursing Branch is responsible for the delivery of primary and public health care through health centres across the Yukon. This position is based in Whitehorse and includes the training, on-going education and development of staff to ensure they meet or exceed the professional standards required to function in community and public health programs. The Community Nursing Branch overall is also responsible for the management and operation of various tele-information programs and systems and liaising with the 811 health-line and with other internal education and learning management systems. Your role The Nursing Practice Consultant (NPC) is part of a skilled and dynamic team responsible for coordinating and delivering clinical training to all branch staff and mentoring primary health care and public health nurses, including nurse supervisors. This position supports professional development courses and provides training and education designed to maintain and keep current the knowledge and skills of those working in expanded scope and public health nursing roles.In addition, Nursing Practice Consultant (NPC) identify, develop and maintain practice resources and supports required to meet program objectives and ensure financial accountability; provide recommendations to Community Nursing management; conduct program audits and develop and deliver educational support to address practice issues and promote high-quality nursing care.
