SUMMARY Assist the F&B Management team in overseeing the Food & Beverage Department. Ensure prompt and courteous service for the guests. Answer questions to the guests about casino operations and consistently acts to provide a positive image to all customers and staff members. Will perform all duties in compliance: with safety standards, health and the Alberta Gaming, Liquor, and Cannabis Commission (AGLC). Candidate must possess strong: Presentation skills Organizational and time management skills Analytical ability and critical thinking Ability to organize and communicate thoughts Ability to interpret financial information Ability to carry out responsibilities with limited supervision ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Within the realm of the job, maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures, which includes the use of safety equipment. Incumbents are responsible for following safety procedures, identifying unsafe practices or conditions and informing their supervisor of unsafe conditions, as directed. Greets customers as they enter the restaurant, directs them to seating and ensures for the continuous provisions of prompt and courteous service. Answers questions of customers about hotel, dining and casino operations and consistently acts to provide a positive image to all customers and staff members. Performs all duties with the highest degree of confidentiality. Develops, maintains and enhances positive relations with all customers and staff members. Wears and maintains all uniforms properly. Ensures that all staff wear and maintain all uniforms properly. Performs all duties in compliance with the AGLC. Alerts Restaurant Manager of any concerns regarding the quality, selection and variety of all food and beverages. Complies with established security policies and procedures. Monitors restaurant activity and acts to help servers, as necessary, to ensure the continuous provision of prompt and courteous service. Communicates and cooperates with other departments to ensure the highest degree of guest satisfaction. Ensures that the appearance of the property reflects positively on the company. Goes through employee standards manual with new hires. Attends such meetings as required by Casino Management. Performs additional duties and special projects as needed and directed. Reports to work as scheduled, on time, and ready to work. Will always remain in work areas, excluding breaks. Takes all training courses as required by Casino Management. All other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated experience directing employees in a supervisory role, experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure, experience problem solving, organizing and prioritizing work. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE High School Diploma. A combination of education and experience may be considered. One (1) or more years and related experience. Previous supervisory experience is an asset. LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to demonstrate effective and diplomatic oral and written communication skills using English. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs. REASONING ABILITY Makes recommendations beyond the scope of essential duties that may positively or negatively impact the operations of other departments. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must have valid AGLC ProServe certification. Must be able to pass a Criminal Record Check. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES Supervises a number of employees indirectly in F&B operations. Is responsible for the direction, coordination of front of house operations when on shift. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization''s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees during the shift; addressing complaints and resolving problems. OTHER SKILLS/ABILITIES Demonstrated knowledge of various laws related to safety, worker compensation, employment, and the AGLC. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Essential duties may involve performing physical exertion: frequent brisk walking, climbing stairs and, stooping, bending, stretching, reaching, kneeling, squatting, bending, walking and crouching/stooping, pushing and standing for an entire work shift, with standard breaks, in order to perform duties. Essential duties may involve working in a small, confined area, with floors that may become slippery in the work process. Essential duties require lifting up to 75 pounds to stack, store or move casino and/or general office supplies and equipment. Essential duties also involve sitting while completing paperwork or using a computer, and flexible workweek with additional hours routinely required. WORK ENVIRONMENT Essential duties may involve working in a casino environment, which contains loud noise, odours and a frequently hot-cold work environment. Essential duties also involve working in an inside office environment. Some inside locations are heavily filled with cigarette smoke. Essential duties involve working with a large number of people in an environment, which is subject to extreme temperature changes and adverse weather conditions including wind, rain, snow, cold and heat. Also, frequently loud or high noise levels in or about the casinos, and the fumes from vehicle exhaust. MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED Many cleaning supplies/materials and alcohol. Various general office equipment, including computers, fax machines, photocopiers, shredders, and telephones.
