Stable Hand Duties: - Feeding and watering horses according to their specific dietary needs - Cleaning stalls and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment for the horses and customers -haltering, blanketing, putting boots on, and leading horses to and from turnout paddocks - Administering basic first aid to horses as needed - Assisting with general maintenance tasks around the stable, such as repairing fences or cleaning equipment Requirements. -Must be able to work in Alberta, no LMIA available. -Must be minimum of 18 years old -Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle. -Position is full time, 4 weekdays and 1 day on weekend. Previous experience working with horses in a barn setting is required. Position will require handling stallions and young horses. Knowledge of basic horse care and handling techniques (haltering, leading, putting on blankets and boots, recognizing illness/injury ). Ability to lift heavy objects, such as hay bales or bags of feed regularly. Physical stamina and the ability to work in various weather conditions. Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
