Position Overview The Banquet Manager leads and coordinates all banquet food and beverage service operations to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences. Reporting to the Manager, Banquet Operations, this role provides hands-on leadership to banquet service teams and oversees event setup and service delivery while upholding the highest standards of service, professionalism, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate is a service-focused leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume event environment, demonstrates strong attention to detail, and consistently prioritizes guest satisfaction while developing and supporting a successful team Primary Responsibilities Leads and coordinates all banquet food and beverage services before, during, and after events to ensure seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences. Functions as the primary on-site liaison for guests and clients, leading service teams on the floor and collaborating directly with guests to deliver a seamless event experience. Ensures service delivery aligns with Centre standards, event specifications, and guest expectations. Provides hands-on leadership and direct supervision to banquet service staff, fostering a positive, professional, and guest-focused service culture. Participates in the recruitment, training, coaching, and performance management of Banquet Servers. Oversees concessions operations, including determining service requirements, managing inventory, and ensuring efficient service delivery. Completes reports and ensures accurate communication and information transfer between teams. Collaborates closely with Events, Culinary, and Operations teams to ensure the successful execution of all events. Promotes teamwork, professionalism, and effective communication across all service areas. Ensures compliance with safe work practices, Centre policies, and applicable health and safety regulations. Addresses guest concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently, courteously, and to guest satisfaction. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of progressive experience within the hospitality industry, with a focus on banquet service, food and beverage operations, or large-scale event environments. Demonstrated experience coordinating food and beverage services with a strong understanding of event logistics. Proven leadership and supervisory experience, including staff training and performance management. Strong guest service orientation with the ability to remain calm, professional, and courteous in high-pressure situations. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, event-driven environment. Proficiency with MS Office Suite, Outlook, and Teams; familiarity with event management software is an asset. Valid Manitoba Smart Choices Certification is required. Open availability, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
