Mission Reporting to the President of Canada and, separately, the Global Directors of Materials and Assets in France, the Vice President, Materials & Assets will support the companys ambitions for materials and company assets by steering the development of all materials activities and leading the asset management CAPEX process across the organization. Main Responsibilities Strategy and Business Development Contributes to the companys Materials strategy and Asset Management strategy, led by the companys management team, and support the deployment of these strategies across Canada. Supports strategically and proactively with regards to the Materials footprint for Canada, integrating geological, geopolitical, environmental and market outlooks, as well as the analysis of the current portfolio of assets. Defines subsequent opportunities for portfolio optimization. Develops and coordinates strategic plans by territory within Canada and follows the global vision in coordination with counterparts in other geographical locations. Contributes to the overall management of Canadas activities as a member of Canadas Executive Committee. Economic Performance Reviews and challenges budgets and action plans prepared by the operational units in Canada, ensuring continuous follow-up of business performance. Challenges business plans from an industrial and commercial perspective, monitors business performance against agreed targets, and drives the commercial policy. Contributes to making tradeoff decisions regarding products to optimize shortterm margins while protecting longterm client relationships. Appropriately escalates to management in case of issues related to performance. Investment / Divestment Responsible for any investment or divestment project, ensuring the expected ROI is realized. Reviews all investment files and establishes recommendations. Guarantees the proper use and optimization of the CAPEX incurred in Canada. Monitors all investment projects and leads the major ones within group procedures. Operational Excellence Guarantees continuous improvement in operations by managing associated processes and tools, initiating, coordinating, and implementing action plans. Manages the performance of Materials as part of the companys quarries operational excellence program. Challenges performance based on defined KPIs and monitors progress of action plans by territory. Secures availability of resources by reviewing business and pricing models when necessary. Collaborates to build a plan to identify business priorities and their consequences on transformation across Canada. Optimizes asset portfolios and industrial tools, fostering Lean, automation and digitization practices. Materials and Equipment Community Management Ensures development and management of talent and capabilities across Canada. Leads the Materials and Equipment communities with tactics such as collective meetings and territory visits. Identifies and monitors talent, participates in succession planning and hiring of managers. Monitors and leads the network of experts per domain for key capabilities. Contributes to talent development through training sessions and content development. Division Governance Contributes to development and deployment of Materials and Equipment as Canadian representative. Ensures smooth communication between global team and Canada, representing Canada at global level. Contributes to governance of global team on all subjects including strategy, performance, talent management. Your Profile Qualifications & Experience Experience in a strategic role, understanding commercial and industrial practices and risks. Experience leading the materials function in a complex, multilocation enterprise. Experience managing various company assets. Experience in a global company. Experience implementing process improvement initiatives. Broad understanding of business development strategies. Capacity to engage teams in a crossfunctional context. Skills & Competencies Effective communicator with interpersonal and relationship building skills. A proactive and influential leader. Highly analytical. Proven business acumen including strategic, analytical and problemsolving skills. Financial acumen (budgeting, financial statements). Bilingual: French and English (strong asset). Additional Information on the Position Salary range: $210,000 $260,000 CAD per year. This is a replacement.
