Your Role & Responsibilities Supported by our significant Land Development and Civil Engineering Infrastructure Teams in Calgary, build a team of professionals to meet the consulting needs of municipalities, with a particular focus on Southern Alberta. Client delivery Manage complex projects for municipalities in Western Canada and advise them on municipal best practices. Coordinate the planning, design, and construction management of civil/municipal infrastructure projects involving site grading, site development, street reconstruction, water distribution, wastewater collection, stormwater management, parking, and active transportation. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary project team and engage with a variety of stakeholders including owners, contractors, subconsultants, operations staff, utilities, businesses, and the public. Participate in and potentially certify and/or validate engineering designs for roads, water/wastewater, stormwater, and active transportation projects. Oversee construction administration, site inspections, and QA/QC compliance. Ensure that project needs (particularly budgets and schedules) are met in a timely and effective manner. Navigate regulatory frameworks such as Water Act, Environmental Protection and Enhancement Act, OH&S, and municipal bylaws. Discipline Leadership Own Western Canada Municipal Infrastructure P&L: revenue, margin, backlog, and utilization targets. Develop and execute a growth strategy considering urban expansion, regional servicing, municipal revitalization, and climate resilience among others. Drive business development: proposals, key account management, and strategic partnerships with municipalities. Implement quality and safety standards, risk management, and stagegate reviews for all projects. Recruit, mentor, and retain top talent; ensure succession planning for all staff. Champion innovation: lowimpact development (LID), digital delivery, and asset management solutions. Performance Metrics Discipline revenue growth and margin performance. Backlog coverage and proposal win rate. Client satisfaction and repeat business. Employee engagement and retention. Quality, safety and regulatory compliance. Working Conditions. Calgarybased with travel to clients and project locations in Western Canada as needed. Hybrid office/field; occasional evening council or public meetings. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering; degree in business is an asset. Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered with APEGA and the ability to register in other Western Canadian Provinces. 1015+ years of municipal consulting experience, including 5+ years in leadership roles. Proven success in municipal projects and familiarity with municipal and provincial standards and regulatory requirements. Strong client relationship management and political awareness. Ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal working relationships with the pool of potential clients is an asset. Leadership in team development and culture building. Excellent communication for council presentations and public engagement. Ability to integrate climate resilience and sustainability into municipal designs.
