Catholic Social Services in Lloydminster, is currently recruiting for a brand-new program We are looking for Family Enrichment Workers, to join our Supportive Family Living Program (SFLP) team. Positions include full-time, part-time, and casual: pick a schedule that works for you Days include Mondays through Sundays and days, evenings, and overnight awake schedules available. About the Supportive Family Living Program: SFLP is an opportunity to witness growth in families from barrier packed beginnings to success at graduation SFLP provides 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, on site mental health and addiction supports in family''s temporary housing that is provided by the program. Eligible families include those referred by the Saskatchewan Ministry of Social Services, for families who have children in care or who are at risk of coming into care of the Ministry. Families will gain family reunification, help in securing independent housing upon completion of the program, increased awareness of community programming and supports to have continued success. They will gain increased knowledge of the impacts of trauma, addiction and violence and so are able to apply harm reduction and preventative strategies. Job Summary: As a Family Enrichment Worker, you will provide family outreach supports to the SFLP residents, by identifying their strengths, needs, and barriers. Areas of programming will include parenting, budgeting, cooking, employment seeking, and mental health resources. Due to the needs of the program shifts are on a 24/7 rotating shift schedule. Job responsibilities include but not limited to: Assesses needs of clients and monitors/reports changes in clients'' behaviour and health Supports families with access to relevant community resources Provides crisis information and support to families Teaches/supervises basic life and community/family living skills (parenting, communication, boundaries, behaviour management, discipline, child development, effective problem solving, and other relevant information-related to goals) Supports the parents to take responsibility for their choices and supports the family to implement/practice skills related to service plan goals Facilitates/monitors implementation of goals Provides supported home visits for children and youth in care who cannot safely visit their families without the presence of a third party to assist the family with parenting strategies and ensure the safety of the child Teaches skills such as communication, problem solving, emotional wellbeing, assertiveness, conflict management, anger management, childcare, behaviour management, age-appropriate discipline, parenting teens, budgeting, employment, nutrition and meal planning, home management, self-care, health and leisure Maintains a pleasant and safe work environment, ensuring high levels of cleanliness, comfort, and safety Communicates effectively and respectfully in a professional manner with clients, both verbally and in writing. Actively listens to clients to understand their needs while being aware of and responding to non-verbal communication Understands, supports, promotes, and adheres to the Agency''s vision, mission, values, and organizational ethics, and treat all persons with humility, compassion, and respect Performs other related duties as required What This Job Requires: Diploma/Degree in Human Services or Equivalent 2 years'' experience working with children and families Valid Standard First Aid/CPR Vulnerable Sector Check from local RCMP or city police detachment Child Intervention Record Check Knowledge and understanding of First Nation''s culture is an asset In-home family support experience is preferred Knowledge and training in addictions and mental health is an asset.
