Duties Serve food and beverages efficiently and courteously to guests Assist with food preparation and cooking as needed, adhering to food safety guidelines Handle food items responsibly, ensuring proper storage, presentation, and cleanliness Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, kitchen, and service stations Follow all food safety protocols and sanitation procedures Assist in meal preparation during busy periods or special events Ensure guest satisfaction by providing attentive and friendly service Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth restaurant operations Qualifications Previous experience in food service, restaurant, or kitchen environments preferred Knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and meal preparation techniques Strong serving skills with a focus on customer service excellence Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Basic cooking skills and familiarity with food industry practices are advantageous Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to food handling and service Wok handling experience is an asset Expectations: Wear a clean uniform Ensure entire line, fridge, freezers are sufficiently stocked Prepare stir-fry''s, soups, side kicks as per ordering during peak hours Prep Menu Items according to par levels Work line read chits, prepare items for cooking/fryer, help with handout Minimize wastage Keep grocery area clean and safe Other duties as assigned Grocery Set Up: Ensure grocery items are fully stocked; meeting requirements of par levels and line check Ensure reach-in and walk-in are organized and filled to par Ensure all utensils and dishwares are clean and sufficiently stocked Preparing Food Orders: Prepare all dishes (stir-fry''s, side kicks, soups) from Chit Printer according to menu specifications in the Prep Manual Check quality of food continually to ensure good presentation (both cooked and pre-cooked food) Ensure that handout is aware of any completed items Prep: Use Prep Manual to prep sufficient quantities of items Group prep duties by procedure to be efficient. ie. Slicing veggies all at once Prioritize prep according to immediate needs for meal periods Minimize Wastage: Prepare items only to assigned prep levels; especially veggies, proteins and noodles Portion all foods to Prep Manual Specifications Use Preparation Methods as specified in Prep Manual Keep Prep / Kitchen Area Clean and Safe: Use slicer carefully; switch off blade before putting hands near blade or before leaving unattended Clean and sanitize all equipment after use to prevent bacterial contamination Put away all utensils, food products etc, after line operation Sweep floor occasionally for appearance and safety Wipe up spills immediately Clean and sanitize sinks, cutting boards and counter tops before leaving at the end of shift Assist with dishwashing and garbage removal Assist with putting away deliveries Assist with the duties listed on the weekly cleaning schedule This position is ideal for individuals passionate about the food industry who are eager to develop their skills in a professional setting.
