The Role As a Department Associate, you provide retail services to a unique client basemembers of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF). In assisting them, you help your community. You help set up various departments, ensuring shelves are stocked, faced and properly signed. You provide technical and professional guidance on sales and products, and deal with customer concerns or complaints to ensure satisfaction. You assist with ordering products and pricing new inventory. The Department Associate may also provide a variety of other retail services, including regular retail services, dry cleaning, lottery services, selfserve gas services and postal services. You will operate Point of Sales systems, the debit/credit machine and maintain a float. You may take and prepare food and beverage orders and prepare takeout food while ensuring cleanliness of food service and eating areas. Perform moderate lifting, carrying, pulling and/or pushing (i.e. more than 10 lbs/4.5 kg but less than 50 lbs/23 kg). This unionised position is open to all interested parties. Preference will be granted in accordance with the Collective Agreement.
