Overview Nova Scotia Health is currently accepting applications for Physician Assistant in Emergency Department at Dartmouth General Hospital. This position assists in transforming healthcare delivery and patient care throughout our province. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, the Physician Assistant (PA) will work under the direction and supervision of the Physician to provide preventative and/or ongoing medical and clinical care management to patients. The PA role contributes to extending the services provided by the physician, through completing assessments and interventions along the spectrum of care provided to patients within their division/department under their supervisory agreement. About You We would love to hear from you if you have the following: Graduate of or currently enrolled in an accredited recognized Physician Assistant program in Canada, United Kingdom, or United States Certified or eligible for certification with the Physician Assistant''s Certification Council, General Medical Council, or National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Nova Scotia Medical Liability Insurance required Membership with the Canadian Association of Physician Assistants preferred 3 years recent relevant experience in the Emergency Department required In the absence of candidates who meet the above experience requirements, alternative experience may be considered Certifications or willingness to obtain, when needed: Basic Life Supports, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Advanced Pediatric Life Support, Advanced Trauma Life Support Currency in medical readings and evidence-based guidelines Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, clinical assessment, and decision-making skills Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred Please ensure your resume is up to date and includes all relevant education, experience, training, and certifications. Hours Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly Shifts include days, nights, weekends and holidays Compensation and Benefits $55.62- $63.28 hourly ($108,464 - $112,806 annually) Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
