ORGANIZATION BACKGROUND John Noble Home is a municipally operated long-term care home jointly owned by the City of Brantford and the County of Brant. The home currently offers 156 long-term care beds with a planned expansion adding 40 new beds, bringing the total to 196. We also operate a community-based day program and a seniors apartment building. Our team is dedicated to providing compassionate, resident-focused care in a collaborative and supportive environment. Position Summary Reporting to the Administrator, the Director of Care (DOC) provides strategic and operational leadership for all nursing and clinical services. The DOC ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident-centered care while maintaining compliance with legislation, professional standards, and Ministry requirements. The DOC also serves as a senior administrative team member and assumes facility administration in the absence of the Administrator. Qualifications Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) required Bachelors degree in nursing required; Gerontology education or diploma preferred Minimum 3 years experience in a managerial/supervisory nursing role in a healthcare setting Minimum 5 years relevant management experience, preferably in long-term care Knowledge of Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care Act, Fixing Long-Term Care Act, 2021, and other applicable legislation Experience managing budgets, reporting requirements, and unionized staff Strong leadership, strategic planning, communication, and human relations skills Ability to travel to multiple work sites as required Vulnerable Sector Check (within the last 6 months) required prior to hiring Why Join Us Lead clinical excellence in a municipal, publicly accountable long-term care home Shape care delivery for a growing resident community, expanding to 196 beds Collaborate with a dedicated Senior Leadership Team Competitive salary, benefits, and OMERS pension Opportunity to make a meaningful, lasting impact on resident quality of life Salary Starting rate of $57.29 per hour (based on a 37 hour work week) plus benefits and OMERS pension.
