Position Description The McGill University Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Cardiology, in the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, invites applications for a full-time Contract Academic Staff position in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (Clinical), based at the Montreal Childrens Hospital (MCH). The professorial rank will be determined according to the successful candidates qualifications and experience. This will be a Contract Academic Staff position and does note confer eligibility for tenure. The Montreal Childrens Hospital is one of McGills major pediatric teaching hospitals, affiliated with Canadas internationally renowned McGill University and located in the vibrant, multicultural city of Montreal, Quebec. The Division of Pediatric Cardiology plays a central role in the Montreal Childrens Hospital Cardiac Program and provides comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including advanced cardiac imaging, interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and fetal cardiology. The division currently manages more than 4,000 outpatient visits, 500550 inpatient consultations, approximately 6,500 echocardiograms, and 8,700 non-invasive electrophysiology investigations annually. The division currently has seven full-time faculty members with strong academic engagement in medical education, health services research, innovation, and clinical excellence. The division hosts fully accredited fellowship programs in interventional cardiology and advanced imaging and maintains a strong national and international academic profile. Job Duties The successful candidate will be an academic clinician with demonstrated expertise in pediatric interventional cardiology and will contribute fully to the clinical, teaching, and scholarly activities of the Division of Pediatric Cardiology at the Montreal Childrens Hospital, MUHC. High-volume pediatric interventional cardiology services, including catheter-based diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; Interventional cardiology call coverage; Inpatient and outpatient pediatric cardiology care; Echocardiography laboratory activities; Cardiology call coverage; Improve outreach activity; Supervision and teaching of medical students, residents, and fellows during clinical activities; Support of the divisions academic mission, including teaching, research, and/or quality-improvement initiatives. The successful candidate will also be expected to be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGills academic mission (e.g., research, teaching, supervision of students and residents, and involvement in academic and administrative committees). Faculty members are expected to contribute to service activities within their unit, the University, and the broader scholarly community. Qualifications and Education Requirements Candidates must: Hold an MD degree (or equivalent); Have postgraduate clinical training in pediatrics, and have completed specialty training in Pediatric Cardiology with certification by the Collge des mdecins du Qubec or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent); Have completed formal subspecialty training in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology; Have a minimum of two (2) years of independent clinical practice in pediatric interventional cardiology after completion of training; Hold, or be eligible for, licensure to practice medicine from the Collge des mdecins du Qubec; Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a commitment to acquire the necessary language skills to practice medicine in Quebec. Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
