Job Overview We are seeking a talented and personable Hairstylist to join our dynamic salon team. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for hair styling and beauty services, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves performing a variety of hair treatments, including hair extensions, coloring, and styling, while maintaining high standards of sanitation and professionalism. The successful applicant will also be proficient in using salon management software such as MINDBODY, and skilled in retail sales, upselling, and client mentoring to foster long-term relationships. This position offers opportunities for growth in store management and advanced beauty techniques. Responsibilities Provide professional hair styling services including cuts, color treatments, blowouts, and special occasion styling. Perform specialized services such as eyelash extensions, hair threading, makeup application, and nail care as needed. Apply hair extensions and utilize color theory to achieve desired client results. Operate salon software such as MINDBODY for scheduling appointments, client records, and retail transactions. Manage front desk duties including greeting clients, scheduling appointments, and handling inquiries with excellent customer service skills. Maintain sanitation standards in accordance with health regulations and store policies. Assist with retail sales through upselling products like hair care items, cosmetics, and styling tools. Mentor junior staff or apprentices to promote skill development within the team. Support store management with inventory control and store operations when required. Qualifications Valid cosmetology or barbering license with experience in hair styling and related beauty services. Proficiency in hair extensions application, eyelash extensions, nail care, and makeup application preferred. Knowledge of salon software systems such as MINDBODY is highly desirable. Strong understanding of color theory and sanitation protocols. Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members. Experience in retail sales, upselling techniques, and retail math to maximize revenue opportunities. Ability to perform hair threading and use straight razors is a plus. Demonstrated ability to mentor others and provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment.
