Position: Health & Safety Coordinator (Intermediate) We are seeking an Intermediate Health & Safety Coordinator to provide coordinated, professional support for our Health and Safety Team. Based in our Calgary office , this role supports the administration, execution, and continuous improvement of Greenfires Health and Safety Management System (HSMS), with regular engagement with field operations at our Hangingstone operations south of Fort McMurray, AB. The successful candidate will bring a solid foundation in health and safety systems and will be expected to work with a moderate degree of autonomy, exercising sound judgment in support of compliance, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager Responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to: HS Management System Administration Administer and maintain elements of the corporate HSMS, including procedures, standards, and controlled documents Provide support to the HS Manager in tracking health and safety performance metrics, analyzing trends, and preparing management-level reports and dashboards Provide support to the HS Manager in managing incident documentation, corrective action tracking, and follow-up to closure Administer contractor management software, following up with appropriate stakeholders to ensure the highest levels of compliance Regulatory Compliance & Audit Support Support compliance with Alberta OHS legislation, Energy Safety Canada, and applicable industry standards related to Occupational Health and Safety. Provide support to the HS Manager in coordinating internal and external audits, inspections, and compliance reviews, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up Training & Competency Oversight Administer health and safety training programs, including maintenance of applicable software platforms, training matrices and certification tracking Coordinate onboarding and orientation requirements for employees and contractors Identify training gaps and support continuous improvement of competency processes Operational & Field Interface Act as a key point of contact between corporate and field HS Team personnel Conduct periodic site visits to Hangingstone assets to verify implementation of health and safety programs and support Field HS Advisor activities Participate in site meetings, inspections, and incident follow-ups as required Continuous Improvement & Corporate Support Lead updates to health and safety practices, procedures, tools, and templates under established governance Support management review processes and continuous improvement initiatives Assist with the development and rollout of corporate health and safety communications and initiatives REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILL SET: Diploma or degree in Occupational Health & Safety or a related discipline 36 years of experience in a health and safety coordination or advisory role within oil & gas, SAGD, or industrial environments Strong working knowledge of Alberta OHS legislation and health and safety management systems Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong analytical, documentation, and reporting skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with health and safety management systems is an asset Willingness to travel to Fort McMurray approximately 2540% of the time Valid Class 5 drivers license Preferred / Assets Experience supporting SAGD operations CRSP designation or actively working toward certification Experience coordinating audits, corrective action management, and regulatory reporting Familiarity with contractor safety management and compliance tracking CORE COMPETENCIES: Builds Personal Leadership, continually builds self-awareness and leadership effectiveness Develops People & Greenfire Culture, demonstrates an unwavering commitment and investment in developing individuals, teams, our culture, and values Fosters Collaboration, builds strong and trusting internal relationships by modelling and supporting collaboration across the company Champions Business Excellence, leverages creative thinking, business insight and financial acumen to build operational efficiency and long-term business success Shapes Vision & Strategy, strategies that are aligned with Greenfire and will support the overall vision of the company.
