Security Officer / Specialist (Construction & Executive) Our client is a successful family operating a multi-division construction firm. They seek a licensed, experienced Security Officer / Specialist to provide security coverage across high-value construction sites and selected private properties. This role combines site watch duties , asset protection , and personal security support , including protective presence and security advisory services. The successful candidate will demonstrate professionalism, discretion, strong situational awareness, and the ability to operate independently in both public and private environments. Key Responsibilities Provide watch coverage for active and inactive construction sites. Protect high-value equipment, materials, and property assets. Conduct foot and vehicle patrols and monitor site access. Maintain accurate incident, patrol, and shift reports. Provide protective presence and security support for designated individuals. Offer practical security advice related to personal safety and risk awareness. Respond to alarms, incidents, and emergencies as required. Coordinate with site leadership and emergency services when necessary. Required Qualifications Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (mandatory). Current First Aid & CPR (Level C) certification (or prepared to acquire). Valid Ontario Drivers Licence with a clean driving record. Eligible to work legally in Canada. Education Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or equivalent (required). Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Criminal Justice, Security , or a related field (preferred). Experience 3+ years of professional security experience. Experience in construction, industrial, or asset protection security is preferred. Personal or executive protection experience is a strong asset. Military or law enforcement background considered an asset. Work Conditions Rotating shifts including evenings, overnight, weekends, and holidays. Indoor, outdoor, and mobile assignments across multiple locations. Employment Structure Full-time employment or long-term contract (flexible based on the candidate) Consistent hours and long-term engagement Advancement potential into senior security or supervisory coverage as the scope expands Compensation Competitive, market-aligned hourly rates ranging from the mid-$20s to mid-$30s per hour, commensurate with experience, licensing, and scope of responsibility.
