Chief Information Officer (CIO) Parkland County has an opportunity for a permanent, fulltime Chief Information Officer (CIO) in the Technology & Digital Services Department. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the CIO plans, develops, implements, and evaluates policies, strategies, and programs related to the management of social, economic, and geospatial data and Information Technology (IT) resources. The CIO establishes IT Governance and provides leadership, direction, consultation, and support to internal and external clients and directs staff in a variety of functional capacities to achieve this objective. The CIO is accountable for the provision of services related to the Countys Geographic Information Systems and IT Infrastructure; Operations Management; and Information Stewardship. This position is also responsible for ensuring these services are costeffective, meet the needs of clients, and are valued as measured by a high level of client satisfaction, business value, and business outcomes. Ideal Candidate A bachelors degree in business management, technology, engineering, computing, or related discipline. A masters degree would be considered an asset. Project Management Professional (PMP), Change Management (ProSci), and Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) certifications are considered assets. Progressive experience directly related to managing operations of the municipal or private sector technology & digital services function. Municipal experience is considered an asset. Demonstrated ability to drive change and manage and support teams with varying levels of experience while ensuring quality, timely delivery of projects with emphasis on business outcomes and value. Extensive experience with largescale enterprise IT projects, preferably in the public sector. Strong understanding of systems architecture with handson experience in analyzing, designing, maintaining, and implementing IT infrastructure. Exceptional communication skills with proven capabilities to influence, negotiate, resolve conflicts, and manage internal and external relationships. Strong problem solving, report writing, and presentation skills. Possession of a valid class 5 drivers license and satisfactory driving record is required. Total Rewards Package A starting annual salary of $147,200 to $159,200, with maximum earning potential of $186,200, based on a 35hour work week and option to join the Earned Day Off Program.
