Job Description

Overview Our client is a well-established livestock business operating a multi-site swine production system. The organization is seeking a Livestock Operations General Manager to provide day-to-day leadership across multiple sites, with accountability for people, animals, performance and compliance. This role is central to operational execution and requires a consistent on-site presence, practical decision-making, and the ability to manage operations while supporting continuous improvement in production and cost control. Responsibilities Reporting to the President, you will: Provide direct leadership and oversight of all staff teams and livestock across five production sites. Lead day-to-day operations by example, maintaining a professional, practical and positive leadership presence. Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards related to animal care, safety and operations. Monitor production performance, costs, and operational outcomes to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency. Plan and manage pig flow internally and externally within the production system. Maintain effective working relationships with suppliers, veterinarians, service providers and external partners. Represent the organization professionally and constructively in all external interactions. Respond appropriately to the realities of livestock production, including after-hours situations, weekends, holidays, and alarm calls as required. Qualifications Prior experience in livestock or swine production operations, ideally within a multi-site environment. Demonstrated ability to lead teams in a hands-on, production-focused setting. Strong working knowledge of livestock compliance, biosecurity and operational standards. Comfortable managing live production variables, schedules and operational disruptions. Practical, solutions-oriented leadership style with strong situational awareness and adaptability. This role operates within a live livestock production system, which at times includes non-standard hours and the need for responsiveness outside of a traditional work schedule.
