We are currently seeking an Electrician to perform maintenance and repairs to all types of electrical and electro-mechanic mail processing, mail handling and related equipment. Job Responsibilities Conduct preventative and system maintenance Read and interpret schematic, blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications Assist in and perform trouble shooting Apply testing and diagnostic procedures Perform installation and removal of equipment as required Perform adjusting, repair and overhaul work on mail handling, mail processing and related equipment as breakdowns occur Job Responsibilities (continued) Ensure that equipment is operating effectively and efficiently. Plans and organizes their workload Communicate effectively Complete documentation Qualifications Education: Completion of at least 2 years of secondary school and a provincial certificate recognized at a journeyman level in Industrial Electricity. Experience: At least 2 years experience working in a maintenance environment performing electrical installations, repairs and troubleshooting of the electrical ccts and controls of a variety of electronic, electro-mechanical systems and equipment. Knowledge: Knowledge of safe working practices in a maintenance and production environment. Knowledge of electrical installations such as alarm systems, power distribution lines, control panels, and in-house communication systems. Knowledge of maintenance and repair of electrical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems. Knowledge of control ccts and programmable logic controls. Knowledge of applicable electrical codes. Knowledge of complex testing, diagnosis and adjustment methods and procedures. Abilities: Ability to perform maintenance routines under a variety of conditions including cramped spaces, heights and other awkward positions. Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams and specifications. Ability to run and interpret software diagnostics. Ability to use hand and power tools, gauging devices and electrical and electronic test equipment. Ability to apply logical troubleshooting techniques to determine the cause of equipment breakdowns and malfunctions. Ability to analyze and conduct investigations to detect degradation of machine performance, repetitive and obscure problems, recommend and implement preventive actions. Ability to estimate time and material requirements accurately. Ability to keep appropriate computerized and manual maintenance records. Ability to assign and explain tasks and to identify when work standards are met. Other Information Some travel maybe required.
