The opportunity Position Summary Reporting to the Head of Private Markets (HPM) the position of Portfolio Manager, Infrastructure / Associate Portfolio Manager, Infrastructure is responsible for investing and managing the infrastructure portfolio of the Teachers Pension Fund and the Public Service Superannuation Pension Fund (the Funds). The positions primary responsibility is to source and due diligence new infrastructure investment opportunities; manage the investment process; provide daytoday management of the portfolio, fund managers, separately managed accounts, and coinvestment relationships; provide ongoing monitoring of existing funds and coinvestments, including underlying asset valuations; and providing comprehensive quarterly reporting. As a subjectmatter expert in infrastructure, provide support to the Investment Committee and provide input to the private markets strategies. Private markets includes the real estate, infrastructure, private equity and natural resources investment portfolios. Key Responsibilities Portfolio Management & Monitoring Manage existing fund managers and coinvestment relationships across the infrastructure portfolios, including monitoring risk, expected performance, and asset valuations. Conduct regular due diligence, ensure compliance with legal documentation, participate in advisory committees, and attend required monthly, quarterly, and annual manager meetings. Pipeline Development & Due Diligence Maintain an inventory of infrastructure managers and monitor funds in or coming to market. Develop pacing plans and lead sourcing of new opportunities, including new managers, followon commitments, and coinvestments. Lead the full due diligence process, present recommendations to the HPM and Investment Committee, and secure CIO approval. Work with legal counsel to negotiate and structure investments. Direct Investment Evaluation For active decisions within separately managed accounts, evaluate investment opportunities through detailed due diligence, assessing risk, exposure, return, and yield. Present findings and recommendations to the HPM and Investment Committee, obtain CIO approval, and oversee external legal counsel during contract negotiations and deal structuring. Reporting & Analysis Produce comprehensive quarterly reporting for the infrastructure portfolio, including consolidated sector, geographic, risk, and manager exposures. Provide performance reporting for individual assets and the overall portfolio, maintain pacing plans, and prepare enhanced Trustee reporting particularly for the coinvestment portfolio. Advisory & Expertise Serve as a subjectmatter expert on infrastructure and private markets, providing analysis, guidance, and support to the Investment Committee. Policy & Strategy Development Develop and update policies, procedures, investment strategies, and annual Trustee reports related to the infrastructure portfolio. Conduct research as required and collaborate with the HPM to refine and approve recommendations. What you need to be successful Postsecondary education in finance, business, economics, or a related field; CFA, CPA and/or a graduate degree preferred. A combination of relevant education and professional experience will be considered in the evaluation of qualified applicants. Experience in pension funds or institutional investment management, specific to private market investments including infrastructure, private equity, private debt, etc. Advanced analytical and financial evaluation skills to assess risk, valuation, performance drivers, and portfolio impacts across diversified portfolios. Proven ability to lead investment sourcing, develop pacing plans, conduct full due diligence, and present recommendations to senior leadership, the Investment Committee, and the CIO. Strong relationship management and communication skills to engage effectively with fund managers, advisors, legal counsel, and internal stakeholders at senior levels. Strategic mindset and sound judgment to interpret market developments, refine investment strategies, and contribute to policy and procedure development. Highly organized, detailoriented, and able to manage multiple mandates and reporting cycles with autonomy.
