The Role The Recreation Inclusion Support Facilitator provides quality leisure programs, services and facilities to military members and their families. We promote inclusion and encourage participation in activities offered throughout our communities. You will manage a portfolio that facilitates participation of people with varying abilities in community activities. You should be compassionate, empathetic, detail-oriented, and possess strong listening and oral communication skills. Patience, a passion for helping people and being a team player are essential. You may work with one participant or a group of children who need help to integrate and feel included. This includes assisting with development, planning and implementation of inclusive recreational activities for children with inclusion needs and assisting with personal care and health needs in settings such as playgrounds, gyms, pools, washrooms, at lunch and on field trips. You will support integration by using assistive technology and resolving accessibility issues. Each day you will make a difference in the lives of participants and contribute to improving the quality of life for our military. Responsibilities Facilitate participation of individuals with varying abilities in recreational activities and programs. Assist with development, planning and implementation of inclusive activities for children with inclusion needs. Provide personal care and health support as required in a variety of settings (playground, gym, pool, washroom, lunch, field trips). Assist with integration of participants using assistive technology and address accessibility issues. Collaborate with team to promote inclusion and safe participation. Qualifications Education, Certifications and Licenses College diploma or certificate in Child Development, Physical Education, Recreation or a related discipline AND some years of experience in a related field OR High school diploma and several years of experience in a related field. Current CPR and Standard First Aid certification High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development (PHCD) Certification Experience In planning and organizing recreational and sports activities/programs for children and youth; In working with children and youth; In leading, supporting and delivering activities for children with inclusion needs; In alternate communication methods; In applying safety protocols and procedures; In working with children with behavioural disorders; In applying policies, procedures, regulations and applicable legislation. The successful candidate will be required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check. This is an on-site position with an assigned work location. START DATE: This is a temporary position with an anticipated start date of 15 June 2026 and end date of 21 August 2026.
