Position Details Location: Imperial Oil Strathcona Edmonton, AB (Local candidates preferred; LOA options may be available for outoftown candidates) Duration: April 1 May 30 Shift: MondaySaturday, 12hour shifts (both day and night shifts required) Employment Type: Subcontractors and employees welcome Rate: Nonunion employees: $60$70/hr Subcontractors: $70$80/hr Certification Requirements Visual Inspectors: API 510, ISI Piping QA/QC Inspectors: API 510, API 570, CWB Level 2 Responsibilities Provide technical input to clients as required on welding and metallurgical matters Provide technical guidance on the application of nondestructive examination (NDE) techniques and procedures Perform inspections to verify work complies with project quality requirements, applicable codes, specifications, drawings, procedures, and contractual obligations Ensure all required inspection documentation and records are accurately generated, maintained, and completed for inspections within the scope of the inspectors training and current certifications Perform external and internal visual inspections of pressure equipment Coordinate NDE activities in accordance with project scope and inspection plans Provide technical input and recommendations related to vessel repairs Prepare and submit timely, accurate inspection reports and status updates Fully comply with all Acuren and client safe work practices and actively participate in site safety programs and initiatives Perform other duties as assigned Requirements High school diploma or equivalent CWB Level II or Level III certification, with a minimum of one to three API endorsements (API 510, API 570, and/or API 653) 35 years of experience working in an inspection role utilizing API and/or CWB standards Additional API and/or CWB certifications are considered an asset Physical & Work Environment Requirements Ability to safely ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, and stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment Ability to position oneself to work in confined spaces such as trenches, pits, manholes, and tunnels (including crouching and crawling) Ability to lift, carry, push, or otherwise move up to 50 lbs on a regular or occasional basis Ability to safely climb ladders while carrying up to 40 lbs Ability to respond quickly to auditory cues (hearing) and visually identify and respond to potentially hazardous situations (distance vision and near acuity) Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) for extended periods Ability to work in cold environments and on concrete surfaces for extended durations Ability to traverse uneven, irregular, and steep terrain safely Benefits The strength of Acuren lies in its outstanding people.
