Role Purpose The Manager, Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) provides leadership and strategy for the health, safety, security and environmental programs for the container terminal in Prince Rupert. The role is responsible for the continuous improvement of all current HSSE programs, as well as the identification and development of new initiatives to improve safety performance. About the Role Lead in the development of standardized HSSE systems, programs, policies, training, campaigns and programs related to injury prevention and ensure compliance with regulations and standards Develop in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders HSSE Annual Plans that align with Globe, Region, and Shared Services Canada strategies and requirements Lead and participate in both internal and external audits to evaluate programs to reduce loss and develop corrective action plans for continuous improvement Ensure timely and accurate reporting of investigations and injury reporting, escalating where appropriate based on severity and/or potential severity Lead Incident Management Program including the internal and external investigation ensuring root cause analysis are completed and effective and timely corrective actions are put in place Lead the compliance of regulatory requirements including investigations, inspection, follow up on complaints, orders and AVC''s in consultation with operations to ensure resolution and mitigation of risk Co-chair JHSC''s and help facilitate meetings and positive relations for the Business Unit Use the GHSE Management System and Application to accurately reflect business activities, use the metrics to drive change and focus on data-based driven results Coach, mentor, and develop direct reports in HSSE leadership, and act as a strategic business partner with operations and other stakeholders Effectively monitor and manage Operating and Capital Safety budgets as assigned Provide guidance and direction on the alignment of return at work processes, approaching injury cases with empathy Assist in overseeing Security Management Program such as executing drills, exercises, auditing of security plans and guard services to meet Transport Canada regulations About You A degree in Occupational/Industrial Health and Safety or a related field, combined with CRSP designation or equivalent Minimum 5 years of management experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Security Management Systems Minimum 5 years'' experience working in heavy industrial environment; unionized environment Experience in leading critical incident investigations, development and management of corrective action projects, and in liaising with government, regulatory, industry and labour organizations Fluent in English Previous Canadian work experience or experience working directly with Canadian industries No phone calls or agencies please.
