Responsibilities Reporting to the Calgary Police Service (CPS) Facility Operations & Safety Manager, the Leader, Facility Operations & Maintenance is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Building Services Team which provides maintenance and general support services for CPS facilities operational maintenance & support requirements. Specific duties include: Lead the scheduling and enhancement of exterior, interior, maintenance programs - including repairs, inspections, and preventative maintenance for HVAC & Plumbing systems - by coordinating appropriate internal and external resources. Responsible for managing the operating budget for CPS Facilities Maintenance & Operations. Manage work order process requests for shop services including prioritization of work, assignment of staff, and providing technical advice when applicable. Advise on operational considerations for internal renovation and new construction projects, ensuring proposed work aligns with organizational needs and operational requirements. Provide facilities related contract & procurement management including administering existing contracts, preparing new contracts, and preparing procurement documents (PR''s, RFP''s, etc.). Responsible for staff administration including providing performance assessments for direct reports and involvement in the hiring, training, coaching, mentoring & performance management of Building Services staff. Qualifications Completion of a 2-year diploma in Engineering or a related field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; OR A certified Red Seal Endorsed Journeyperson Plumber, Gasfitter, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic or Electrician anda minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. A Building Owners and Managers Institute (BOMI) or International Facility Management Association (IFMA) certification would be considered an asset. Experience in law enforcement and union environments will be considered assets. Education obtained from out of country must have or be able to obtain, an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for confirmation of equivalent credentials. Compensation: Level M1 $113,400 - 141,700 per annum Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day work week with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
