Position Overview Experience Previous experience or knowledge in areas of environmental data communication hardware and software, building automation, medical electronics, solid-state systems, and instrumentation. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade XII education, Manitoba standards. Certified electronic technologist/technician from an accredited technical college, or equivalent combination of education and experience as recognized by Deer Lodge Centre. Certification/Licensure/Registration Not Applicable Qualifications and Skills Demonstrates knowledge and support of: The vision, values, goals, and objectives of the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority and the Deer Lodge Centre. The Deer Lodge Centres Mission Statement, Residents Bill of Rights and Code of Conduct. Personal Health Information Act, Protection of Persons in Care Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts. Knowledge of communication equipment. Knowledge of blueprint reading and schematic drawings. Knowledge of medical electronic industrial equipment. Knowledge of proper precautions and procedures when working with electrical or electronic equipment. Ability to test and install electrical/electronic wiring, equipment and estimate materials. Ability to work with limited supervision. Ability to perform other duties and functions resulting in the complexities of electronic and communication apparatus and equipment. Ability to work under stressful and emergency conditions. Ability to work in an environment respecting the privacy and rights of patients/residents that may be encountered in carrying out duties. Skilled in the operation of diagnostic equipment. Skilled in the installation of data communication hardware and software. Physical Requirements Mentally and physically capable of performing all job functions. May be required to work extended hours. May involve exposure to disease, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, etc. May encounter aggressive and/or agitated patients/residents/staff/visitors. This position requires a current satisfactory Criminal Records Check (including Vulnerable Sector Search), Child Abuse Registry Check and Adult Abuse Registry Check as conditions of employment. The successful candidate will be responsible for any service charges incurred. A security check is considered current if it was obtained no more than six (6) months prior to the start of employment. Please note that an employee is not permitted to hold two or more positions across the WRHA legal entity that combine to equal more than 1.0 EFT.
