Overview Employment Listings Cemetery Foreperson Catholic Cemeteries & Funeral Services Archdiocese of Toronto (CCFS) Location: Assumption Catholic Cemetery & Funeral Home, Mississauga, ON Date Posted: January 16, 2026 Posting Expires: February 06, 2026 CCFS is currently looking for a full-time Foreperson to join our team. This position provides an opportunity to apply knowledge and experience in property management and supervision to support the management team in creating a positive workplace and compassionate care for families and visitors. The Foreperson reports directly to the Cemetery Manager and is responsible for the duties listed below. Responsibilities Lead, plan, co-ordinate and supervise cemetery labourers and overall cemetery operations to ensure that all burials and cremations are prepared, set up and completed as per policies and procedures Ensure the maintenance of cemetery property including mausoleums, satellite cemeteries and an on-site funeral home; may involve working with on-site subcontractors Manage various landscaping projects in and around buildings, structures, monuments and roadways Supervise maintenance tasks such as framing, pouring and installation of concrete memorial foundations, installation of bronze/granite markers, pictures, wreaths, and other memorialization items as required Ensure the Health and Safety of employees and visitors Assist in developing and updating modified workplans, training employees, maintaining inventory of supplies and materials, monitoring the use and maintenance of cemetery vehicles and equipment, and coordinating annual special events to CCFS standards Complete daily, monthly and regular administrative tasks We Offer The Ideal Candidate A competitive salary Annual Incentive Program Extensive benefits, paid 100% by employer Company-match pension plan A five-day weekly schedule, with one scheduled day off, Monday to Saturday On-the-job training and education reimbursement program Secure employment and a great work environment Skills and Qualifications Strong communication, time management, interpersonal, customer service, problem solving, detail oriented, computer literate, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team Previous bereavement experience or knowledge of cemetery and crematorium operations, or willingness to learn Knowledge or experience with vehicles and equipment (e.g., landscaping equipment, landscape trailers, backhoe, trucks requiring A License, utility vehicles, casket lifts, lowering devices, cremation equipment) Mechanical orientation and/or general construction knowledge (5 years) Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a unionized environment Valid Ontario G Drivers License in good standing Clear Police Clearance Record Post-secondary education preferred We are committed to creating an inclusive, barrier-free recruitment and selection process.
