Job Title

The Toronto Blue Jays are seeking an experienced sous chef to fulfill an opening within our Major League kitchen. This is a part-time contract, seasonal role aligned with the baseball season and schedule, spanning from approximately March to November 2026. Responsibilities Food preparation and quality control Inventory and stock management for assigned area Instruct cooks in preparation, cooking, garnishing and presentation of food Supervise activities of specialist chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers Process and organize weekly food shipments and restock grocery shelves when needed Help in the development and implementation of meal design Ensure that food products, presentation, and preparation are of the highest quality, and are prepared to serve in a timely manner Qualifications Proven experience as a chef in the sport or restaurant industry Exceptional culinary skills and knowledge of diverse cuisines Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills Positive and approachable Ability to work within a team and complete tasks as assigned by the Executive chef Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends Food Handling certification required Proven experience working long hours including early mornings, late nights, weekdays, weekends and holidays Long shifts of restaurant work may require standing, moving around, and lifting. Preferred Skills Experience working within the professional or collegiate sports setting Basic understanding of sports nutrition Experience in Latin cuisine and ingredients. Minimum 2-5 years cooking experience in a fine dining environment and experience in a culinary leadership role preferred Salary:The anticipated base compensation for this role is $24.00 per hour.
