The Action Group is a non-profit organization that provides a range of services to adults with developmental disabilities in Central Alberta. The Enhanced Housing Program is a new service approach designed to accommodate adults with developmental disabilities who due to multiple factors have been unsuccessful in securing community living options. The facility provides direct support up to 16 individuals with high complex service needs and behavior challenges including but not limited to physical or verbal aggression, violence, property destruction and self-harm. Previous exposure to working with individuals with Autism preferred. Acceptance of worksite risks. Ability to apply boundaries, engage CPI, implement behavior support plans, provide personal care, and work collaboratively with a large team. The Action Group is currently seeking a full-time and part-time Complex Needs Support Specialists. You will be required to support individuals with complex behavioral needs in a twenty-four hour secure community residential setting. The program provides specialized housing and support, for eligible adults, focusing on wellness, safety, life-skill development and community inclusion. The Specialist works in consultation with the service team to identify potential risks and initiates action to manage risks through consistent implementation of the Behavioral Support Plan and a collaborative approach to monitoring the effectiveness of individualized strategies and client well-being. The Specialist will work directly with the individual and facilitate community engagement Qualifications Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated ability to work well with a team, establish clear boundaries and maintain a structured routine Requirements Two - five years of experience supporting individuals with complex behavioral challenges Valid driver''s license/reliable transportation Clean vulnerable sector check Please apply by sending your resume and cover letter to - We thank all applicants who apply, though only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
