Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Security Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting a wide range of security systems. Responsibilities Install, configure, and troubleshoot security systems including CCTV, alarm systems, fire alarms, sensors, and access control devices. Perform system testing and commissioning to ensure optimal operation of security infrastructure. Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on security hardware such as cameras, sensors, lock systems, and cabling. Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals related to low voltage electrical systems. Utilize hand tools and power tools for installation and repair tasks in construction or retrofit environments. Manage remote access software setup and network configurations for surveillance and alarm systems. Provide field service support by diagnosing issues on-site and implementing effective solutions promptly. Collaborate with clients to understand their security needs and recommend appropriate system upgrades or sales opportunities related to alarm system sales. Adhere to NEC standards and electrical codes during installation projects. Document work performed using detailed reports and system schematics for future reference or client records. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking, telecommunication wiring, and system design principles. Mechanical knowledge related to hardware installation and troubleshooting. Experience with CCTV surveillance systems, sensors, IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems), and low voltage electrical systems. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, cabling techniques, and fire alarm equipment. Familiarity with security system components including alarm panels, access controls, locksmithing basics, and surveillance cameras. Ability to read schematics and technical manuals accurately. Experience with remote access software for monitoring or configuring security devices remotely. Construction experience is a plus for retrofit or new installations in various environments. Service technician experience preferred for efficient troubleshooting and customer support skills. Knowledge of NEC standards relevant to electrical installations in security applications.
